I don't know if this could work but,

How about on every hour people look at their friends list and upload the list to this thread ( text format) with MA time of list. We can then ferret out the duplicates and start graphing the EU population on an hourly basis.

I KNOW that this will only be a sample based on responders but it could be an enlightening experiment.
