EBN: Breaking news about Prof. Barton 17 Nov 2005 The Professor Niels Barton disappearance has taken a new dramatic turn. A deep cover source within the Calypso Security Bureau has recovered some classified surveillance footage from a remote drone unit, from the apparent abduction of Prof. Barton. We want to warn the viewers about the horrific images shown. What the robot forces wants with Prof. Barton is yet a mystery. Hey if you are reading this MA I like this evolving story and I think the pictures are a really cool addition and make it seem more "real."
Let's see: Neils Barton is a leading robot expert who was kidnapped. So he probably discovered something about the robot's plans that they don't want us "stoopid hyoomans" to find out about. This reminds me of "I, Robot" where the doctor decides to set up his own suicide in his office to get the attention of the main character, since the robots are keeping him a prisoner. It would be cool if this became a quest where each of us could go to Barton's office in Port Atlantis and investigate/right click the items in his office to get clues and coordinates. That would tie the story into the gameplay. If the disappearance of Talia Makasty (known as McNasty to her old boyfriends) is related to this, then the robots also have something to do with the meteor. Maybe they thought they could kill off the humans or destroy calypso but it backfired because of the magical incantations of the Argonauts??? Maybe the Argonauts are our friends and we've been killing them for centuries! Or maybe I've had too much coffee today! |
