INTRODUCING

CURRENT PRIZE 43.5 PED

I was thinking about what type of event I could start that would not require skills in game but more problem solving real life skills. The result is the Entropia Treasure Hunt. I'm sure EU treasure hunt will evolve as I am able to see how things work. I have many ideas in store for the future. I would like to make this a monthly event and if the event gets larger I will be making a website dedicated to the event.

HOW IT WORKS:
Portions of this event will take place outside of Entropia. In order to be as creative as possible, I needed to use other means like external websites, images, Treasure Maps ect. Running Entropia in window mode is recommended for quick internet access.

Every treasure hunt will be slightly different but will all have the same basic structure to them. You will meet me (Jon Snoogles Friedrich) at the start location (in this case Fort Medusa). When we begin I will give you a clue, This could be a web site address or just a clue to go to your next location. The clue will lead you to another player in the game who will give you a second clue, The final person that you find will give you a link to a treasure map. The treasure map will have general location of the TRESURE!!! (well actually it will be an avatar holding your treasure) Im not gonna just go leaving ped around for people to find, heh. But that is the general idea of how it works! Any Questions??

If you are sent to a certain avatar for your next clue, you must open a private chat with them. Clues and hints will not be given out in global chat for fairness purposes.

SKILLS:
I have specifically designed the treasure hunt to require a minimal amount of EU skills. I would like any player from noober to uber to be able to participate. There may be special EU treasure hunts in the future that will require some skills but that will be stated in the forefront. The majority of my EU treasure hunts will not be skill based. The only thing I can't really do anything about is the way agility affects run speed. Because of that, I will be trying to minimize the amount of running and maximize the amount of problem solving and thinking needed to complete the treasure hunt.

Entrance Fee and Prize:
This is something I have been thinking a lot about. I have no problem putting in my time and creativity into this project but I do not have the funds to back it so what I'm doing is have everyone pay 35 PED and it will all go into a pot, The more players the more money you can win! INVITE YOUR FRIENDS! I will take 10% of the pot for the organization, planning and creation of each event.

TELEPORTERS:
I think it would be unfair if someone payed there ped and then realized they could not participate in the event because they do not have the proper TP's SO I decided to make a list of TP's that all participants should have before the start of the event. Here is the list of TP'S (the event will not require all these tps, but if you only knew the exact TPS that you had to go to it would be too easy

NO TELEPORT CHIPS! Anyone seen teleporting or charging mindforce will be automatically disqualitified. (don't worry there won't be a HUGE amount of running involved either)

NO CHEATING! No tipping off other players to try and get there quicker. No collaborating! You must complete each step. (I have eyes everywhere, anyone seen cheating will be disqualified.

How are you going to be able to stop cheating via socchat and PMing?

I will be keeping track of who got to what checkpoint, there will be someone keeping track at each checkpoint..If you get to the treasure, and you weren't at every previous checkpoint then your disqualified.

Nice idea, but 35 PED is a bit steep, I think you'd do better if you made it 10 PED. 35 PED is a lot of money for sweating noobs.

Ok thanks for your input, I may lower the fee. This event isnt just supposed to be for sweating noobs, its for everyone. Lower entrance fee meens lower pot. at 10 ped it would take alot of ppl to get any kind of respectable pot going. We will see. This is all new, im sure it will take a bit to get the kinks out of it.

I would suggest lowering the pot until you have some 'credibility,' i.e. people have tried it once or twice for cheap, and see that they have (or don't have) a chance and will pay more (or not) to play again.

I'll try and sign up, but 35 ped is a bit steep.

Lower fee should also mean more entrants though. Just from my own perspective - at 10 PED, I would probably enter (if I can make it, I'm not sure if I can yet). At 35 PED, I won't be entering.

Have you ever heard that "two heads are better than one"?
What if a cheater uses PMs and Soc Chat to get people to help them solve the riddles. In that case it wouldn't be two heads, but many, many heads!

Isn't that cheating as well?
