LA 45 Revisited and Good Hunting

You know sometime waking up at Sakura City Trade Center is like waking up at a Casino. All the hoot and hollerin when someone globals or hofs, but this morning it was quiet. I am not sure why, but I certainly slept better. I started my morning ritual of getting something to eat, checking the condition of my arms and armor and then taking inventory of my Ores and Enmatters. Yup it was time to see some, I feel like a mining run.

Checking my comm I don't find any of my usual buyers so off to Twins I went to see if anyone was buying there. I did find Bappa offering to buy Ores and Enmatters, so we made the trade.

>>Ores sold (as Ingots)and Enmatter (in a refined state): 94 Belkar, 5 Gazzurdite, 1268 Oil, 18 Melchi, 12 Garcen Lub and 5 Alicenies Gel. Sold all for 40.95 peds or 107% to Bappa.

Now with peds in my account it was time to buy some bombs and probes and head out to my favorite spot...LA 45.
It was an ok run, found nothing special and hit rates were average. On the good side of things I reached Level 4 in the Prospector Profession.

After the mining run I was getting the itch for hunting, so I headed back to Oshiri TP and made the jump to East Scylla for some eco hunting. I noted at the time of the hunt Entropia Tracker was saying loots were up +47%. I was not disappointed with the results. I used 2001 rounds of ammo and got back 26.92 peds of loot.

A decent mining run and a profitable hunt. What more can you ask?

Hunt, Craft, Hunt, Craft

Coming off a great hunt yesterday I thought I would try my luck at Orthos since Entropia Tracker said hunting was up +55%. I purchased 2100 rounds and headed off. The hunt went very well and by the time I finished I had racked up 51.46 peds of loot!

I was so jazzed by this run i did a bad thing, I went right back. one of the reasons was I was about to break my Riker UL1 and I wanted to have a last hurrah with it. With Entropia Tracker reporting a +77% increase in loots I thought I would do OK, but as we all well know EU is Dynamic and nothing is guaranteed! I did reach level 6 in the Grenader (Dmg) profession. Well I took 2131 rounds but when I was down to 604 left, my gun broke. So I couldn't do a full run and I ended up with a loss for the trip. I fired 1527 rounds and only got back 11.73 peds So I lost 3.54 peds on the run and now my gun was broke.

I headed back to Sakura City to do some crafting and see what peds I could get for some of the junk I had been collecting. So first after arrive at Sakura I decided to craft some basic shirts.

>>Crafting Results: Basic Shirts Did 14 clicks (4 Generic Leathers, 5 Enamel Molisk Buttons and 2 Wool Clothes) I ended up with 6 Basic Shirts. My QR went from 7.1 to 8.0. I was able to sell all the shirts for 17.09 peds.

>>Crafting Results: Large Striped Cotton Fabric Textures Did 10 clicks (1 Wool Cloth and 1 Inferior Cloth Extractor) I ended up with 70 Large Striped Cotton Fabric Textures, 9 Tailoring Remnants, 13 Metal residues and 5 Inferior Cloth Extractor returned. My QR went from 5.2 to 5.8

and finally I did a small run on Midastree textures

>>Crafting Results: Midastree Textures Did 5 clicks (21 Midastree Veneers and 1 Basic Wood Extractor) I ended up with 71 Midastree Textures, 2 Metal residues and 1 Basic Wood Extractor and 4 Midastree Veneers returned. My QR went from 2.1 to 2.5.

after the crafting I was able to sell enough junk to get 60 peds, with which I bought a new Riker UL1. I then saw that Wyn was available so I set up a meeting with him at Twin Mall.

Of course with a pocketful of peds i knew it was mining time again. But this time I wasn't going to hit LA 45, I was going to mine the mountains NE of Fort Argus. As I started I stopped for a moment and looked out over the sea to the North and noticed a storm was brewing.

This ended up being an interesting mining trip as when I start into the mountains and headed east I was killed by Meffoids and appeared at the Outpost way to the east. So I headed North and then mined back to my starting point to the west. I did get a new rank in Drilling and that was nice but what was even better was after I was killed and headed North to start mining again a Combibo Provider got in my way and after I dispatched it I found him to be loaded with 912 Animal Muscle Oil and 777 Light BLP rounds. Very nice indeed!

One thing I noted was Enmatter mining was not that great, This area definitely favors ore mining.

With the end of the mining run I was wondering what to do with all the daylight left in the day. The answer came in the form of the comm lighting up. It was Xeurol and he was looking for a hunting buddy. I thought that since I had my nice brand new Riker UL1 that this would be a good first run with it. I asked him what kind of gun he was using nowadays and it turned out to be close to my Ul1, so I suggested Orthos again.

So we met up at Orthos and I made Team TKoC Mashers. Xeurol show up I joined him to the team and we set out!
We beat up on Molisks, Merps, Atrax and Droids.

We didn't global or hof but we did have 3 nice loot drops and we both came out with profit from the run! I went in with 3100 rounds and made 50.72 peds for a profit of +19.72!

Its been long day but I wasn't done yet. Back to crafting it was! At Sakura City I started with a 200 click run at Basic Filters and finished up with a lame attempt at crafting ClericDagger 1A.

>>Crafting Results: Basic Filters Did 200 clicks (1 Lysterium Ingot, 1 Oil) I ended up with 478 Basic Filters, 150 energy Matter Residue, 59 Metal residues and 18 Oil returned. My QR went from 39.5 to 40.9. I also looted a level 1 Basic Wires BP again.

and finally I fished up the night with a 1 click shot at a ClericDagger 1A. You never knwo what you will get when yo do these 1 shot crafting runs, and in this case it was just a near success.

>>Crafting Results: ClericDagger 1A Did 1 clicks (6 Iron Ingots and 1 Angelic Flake) I ended up with 18 Energy Matter Residue and 1 Angelic flake returned. My QR remains at 1.0.

Not a bad day at all!

Two Days of Profit and 1st solo Hunting Global!

Getting going at Sakura I was still riding high from the great hunting the day before. I did a quick check of conditions at Entropia Trackers and found hunting was still positive. I had a lot of maintenance to do today so all I had time for was a short hunting run at Orthos. I am glad I went hunting! I started with 3200 rounds and got back 46.34 peds of loot, giving me a profit of +14.34

Nice run that one!

The next day I spent checking out the auctions for a while and did some research on Market Trends. After a while that go very boring and I checked up on the Hunting conditions for the day. So far they are still in a good positive position. Back to Orthos I went. I think I am getting addicted to Orthos, I may have to get counseling at some point....but not today!

So I grabbed 3100 rounds and headed out. The loot was pretty good and just when I was getting near the end of the run, I got a surprise...that's right
I GOT MY FIRST SOLO HUNTING GLOBAL!

To say the least a big giant Wooot!!! went out across the airwaves. Alex even PMed me and asked if this was my first solo global (good memory on him)

To say the least I made very good profit this run! 31 peds of ammo got me 92.91 peds of loot! That is a profit of +61.91!!!!

Boy what a great time I had!! I think I may have finally gotten the skills needed to start making a decent profit, if I can play things smart (which I certainly going to try!) Of course I expect MA to throw me a curve ball or two, and I will deal with that when it happens.

I now have had a personal Global in all three major professions, Mining (Oil) Crafting (Mannell Shoes) and now hunting (Adult Molisk). Now I can start working on the hofs, I have a Mining hof already so now I just need a Hunting and crafting one :wink:

That night I went to sleep with a smile on my face!

Hunting Orthos West Mound, Making Shirts and another Global!

The last thing I remember was heading out for a hunt in the outbacks north of Port Atlantis. I had just started a run when something stung me, at least that is what it felt like, in the back of the neck....that was a week ago!

I slowly was able to open my eyes, but my vision was blurry. After a few moments I was able to focus and looked around me to find that I was laying in an old bed in a very broken down room. looked like it was once a hotel room, but of a time long past. I slowly sat up and reached up to feel the back of my neck. I found a bandage had been placed over the spot I remember being stung. I pulled the band aid off and examined it. I found that it was not the type I carry with me and there was a paste in the center of the pad. Someone must have found me and patched me up.
"Hello?" I called out.
Nothing responded.
I then realized that I was only wearing my underwear. I quickly looked around the room and found all my stuff neatly arranged on a old table. I quick check of my goods showed everything was there. I picked up my comm unit and turned it on. It came to life and I immediately stared getting welcome back messages from the Knights of Calypso. I did a location scan and found I was in an abandoned apartment building at Zychion Citadel. Checking the records of the Comm unit I found it was powered off soon after I last remember using it.
Looks like I have a guardian angel, I thought to myself.
I suited up and checked supplies. I was good to go. So I headed out to the Zychion Citadel TP and did not run into anyone along the way....weird and dialed in Sakura City.
Arriving at the Market Center I found my storage box full with hides,leathers and wool. Time for some crafting it seems.

>>Crafting Results: Generic Leather Textures Did 143 click (2 Generic Leathers, 1 Basic Leather Extractor) I ended up with 55 Generic Leather Textures, 55 Tailoring Remnants and 206 Metal remnants. Success rate: 38% My QR went from 55.1 to 56.2

Last I remembered hunting involved a nice global, so I thought I have the peds, so why not do another little hunt at Orthos. I bought 3k of ammo and headed out. Now for the most part I just get tt junk, but not today. This first cool thing I got off a Young Atrax was a tube of pink Foundation worth 5 ped.
and then off a Young Molisk I got a nice 15 ped Nerve Blast Chip and some other goodies. Overall it was a great profitable run, with 30 peds out for ammo and 85.72 peds in loot for a profit of +52.72

With this nice influx of peds I repaired all my armors and fixed up my Fap-35 also.

I was so jazzed with this run I bought 3500 more rounds and headed back out for another run. At first everything was going as normal. Then I attacked a Mature Atrax with my eye on a Gen 1 drone behind. I was down to about 30% of my health when just as I was about to shoot the killing blow, the Atrax critically hit me and I went down. I revived and healed up as fast as I could and started running back to finished off the Atrax. I didn't tp to it for fear of landing amidst a large group of mobs and getting killed again. I was hoping to dodge through the mobs unnoticed, but of course every Atrax and Merp picked up my trail, so I ended up defending myself a lot!
I never did find that Atrax and not long after that I was shooting up another Gen 1 Drone when he hit me once, twice and then critted me for 55....I was dead again.
I headed back that way intent on revenge. This first Drone I found fell quickly to my wrath and then the moment I have been waiting for, for a long time, I took out another Generation 1 Drone and....GLOBAL!!!

Thats right, another global at Orthos. But this time it was a Drone and was 79 peds. I have been hoping for a global from these guys for a long time. I looted 1 Erdorium Stone, 4 Gazzurdite Stones and over 3K of robot links.

and what was even cooler is that right after the global I got a 30+ pedder from an old merp

When all was said and done it was an even better run than my last one. I spent 35 peds on ammo and brought in 132.39 peds in loot for a base profit of +97.39 :lol:

Well I thought that my luck cant last so I called it a day for hunting. Back to Sakura City I went.
Well now was the time to see if I could get a replacement UL1 as mine was close to breaking. I saw one in auction (at 37peds), for 105% with the auction ending in 5 minutes so I bid on it.
In the mean time I did a little more crafting.

>>Crafting Results: Basic Filters Did 200 clicks (1 Lysterium Ingot, 1 Oil) I ended up with 480 Basic Filters, 241 Energy Matter Residue, 120 Metal residues and 22 Oil and 1 Lysterium ingot returned. My QR went from 39.5 to 43.8. I also looted a level 2 Basic Bolts BP which was nice as I didn't have that one yet. Nice thing was I only lost 12 pec on the run.

after the basic filters I noted I had enough Wool, Molisk Buttons and Generic Leather for a 20 click run on Basic Shirts

>>Crafting Results: Basic Shirts Did 20 clicks (4 Generic Leathers, 5 Enamel Molisk Buttons and 2 Wool Clothes) I ended up with 12 Basic Shirts. My QR went from 8.1 to 9.3. I was able to sell all the shirts and 1 Mannell Shoe for 29.24 peds.

You have to love when everything falls into place. Settling in for the night I started planning my day for tomorrow, maybe I will mine a but...or go back to Orthos for another global

Started strong finished weak

I like...no..LOVE Orthos! I am at the perfect level to profit when I am their hunting as long as I don't get greedy. Well as we all know...sometime you can help but push for a little bit more.

After having had such a good day yesterday I woke up all fired up about getting back out to Orthos and get back to work. I think I have definitely solidified the idea, at least to myself, that you don't have to hunt with the gun you are trying to skill up through. I am almost maxed in the Breer M4 Rifle, but I don't use one. I have never used one instead I am skilling through the laser Carbines via the Riker UL1. This way I maximize my hunting efficiency in loot versus expenses. I recommend this sytle to anyone who wants to make their peds last longer.

So heading out the front door of Sakura City Market Center the morning sun greets my face. With a smile I head to the TP and bring up the commands to take me to Orthos....

With the TP lights receding I take note of the couple of hunters/miners in the area and head off West--South West to my favorite hunting grounds. Of note on this trip (besides the profit I got a new rank in Marksmanship and looted Atrax claws for the first time.

I hunted until I ran out of ammo and ran back to the TP area at Orthos with a little train behind me :lol:

Loot was good and gave me some profit but no globals. Ammo brought was 3040 and tt of loot ending up being 49.33 peds for a rough profit of 18.93 peds.

I then thought it was time to mix things up so I went to Camp Phoenix and went after Molisks and Berkys....and in retrospect I shouldn't have done it. Loot was very bad and the only good thing was I got a new rank in Weapons Handling.
I blew through 1800 rounds and got back about 6 peds of loot....yuck!

Then another crazy idea came to mind and I headed to Fort Argus to hunt Cornundacauda. I killed a lot of them and ending up with very little loot (a lot of no looters) and loosing 11.81 peds. But I did reach level 7 in the Ranged Guass (Dmg), Pyrotropian (Dmg) and Ranged Plasma (Dmg) professions.

With the last 2 bad runs fresh in my memory I went back to Orthos....I should have quit now ..but I didn't. I didnt get any cool items and the loot was just too little with alot of no looters. I had pushed my luck and lost. Of course there is always a silver lining, I did get a new rank in Courage and Dexterity.

I did make another train while running back to Orthos after running out of ammo.
I started with 3135 rounds and only got back 17.72 in loot for a rough loss of -13.63 peds

I spent that night in the shopping container and had uneasy dreams about tiny Merps stealing all my stuff....

Just a thought. have you considdered putting all of this in a book form? With MA aproval of course and I am sure they would love the promotional part of it all

You may want to considder doing it and make a lot of money to depo

I am sure many entropians would want a copy too.

Very interesting idea. I wonder if with the new cryengine whether or not you could have books ingame with content created by us players. Could be very cool!
Thanks for you vote of confidence in my writing, I do my best having not been formally trained in writing (I just have read alot in the last 30 years)
It would be cool to have EU books available in your local bookstore or online wouldn't it?

Orthos Crafting Sandwich

Note: Looking at the forums I realized that today is the last day for this VU. So I thought I better a last Orthos run just in case something happens to the Molisks, Atrax, Drones or Merps.

I woke up and was ready for a new day. Weird thing about sleep out here in Orthos, the morning air has kind of a metallic quality about it. I don't know what that means...maybe someone iced a drone right outside the door..who knows.
I cleaned up my armor and the Riker UL1 and bought 3500 rounds for the next hunt.
and out the door I went!

Strangely enough I got no skill levels or new ranks but the loot was good. I looted a couple of Shogun shins (M&F) and another Nerve Blast Chip. so i spent 35 peds on ammo and looted 67.64 peds of stuff. Not bad, I like this profit streak I have been having!

After the run I realized I was sitting on a lot of Generic Leathers so off to Sakura City I went to do a little crafting. I found about 5 people hovering around the hof crafting machine, there are 3 crafting machines in the room, the left most one I call the hof crafter because several people have gotten ATH hof on the machine. I found I was out of Basic Leather Extractors so a quick trip to the auction got me 850 of them, which was more than enough for my current run.

>>Crafting Results: Generic Leather Textures Did 184 clicks (2 Generic Leathers, 1 Basic Leather Extractor) I ended up with 95 Generic Leather Textures, 77 Tailoring Remnants and 90 Metal remnants. My QR went from 56.2 to 56.9. Based off tt values (since I loot most of my crafting resources) I put 15 ped into the run and ended up loosing 8.98 peds altogether. Which is about normal.

Since I had a very good run at Orthos I thought I would push it again and see what happens (see sometimes I dont learn, even from myself! :wink: )

Of note during the run I reached Level 14 in the BLP Sniper (Hit ) Profession I did once again run out of ammo and was chased but a nice grouping of mobs.

The run almost profited, which isn't bad. I out 35 peds into ammo and got back 33.03 peds in loot (All tt value). For a loss of only 1.97 peds (I can live with that)
Once again I decided to hole up at Orthos since I was planing another run in the morning. I sat for a while watching others arrive via the TP and head out to seek their fortunes...I wished them the best of luck!

New Vu, New Buildings and New Adjusted Molisks

Note: The new VU was applied this morning.

I awoke to a strange sound, kind of a mechanical whirling sounds and I also smelled the metallic smell. I got up and went to the door of the shopping container and looked out. All I saw was a couple of hunters standing around talking. But I could not find the source of the sound or smell.

I made a morning trip to Twins and then PA to check out the rumors of a new building project having been completed and sure enough i found the new X-Fire complex building. Very Cool. The doors were locked but yo were able to walk up to the observation deck and check that out. Nice view!

I spent most if the morning cleaning out all the gunk that had really gotten into the joins of my armor (i.e all the stuff I missed cleaning yesterday. I also took count of my ore inventory and check to see if I would get hold of Wyn, but he was unavailable. I went to the the Trade Terminal and bought another 3500 rounds. So I headed back to the TP and back to Orthos I went. I jogged out of the TP and headed due West over the sparsely wooded hills. It did take long to find my first group of Molisks.

I did notice that they seemed to be regenerating faster than normal but I was able to still easily handle them. As it turns out the loot was very good off the Atrax and the Molisks seemed to be dropping a little more frequently. Out of my 35 ped ammo investment I did get back 86.63 peds in tt value loot. More profit! I love it! But this time I wasnt going to go out again and just enjoy the day with profit still in my pocket.

Off this run I ended up with 198 wool, and you know what that means!!!!....its crafting time and Sakura again!

>>Crafting Results: Basic Shirts Did 21 clicks (4 Generic Leathers, 5 Enamel Molisk Buttons and 2 Wool Clothes) I ended up with 6 Basic Shirts, 85 Tailoring remnants, and recovered 30 Molisk Buttons, 3 Wool cloths and 35 Generic Leathers. My QR went from 9.3 to 10.4. I was able to sell all the shirts for 12.77 peds and kept the rest.

I love productive and profitable days like this

The short day that was a wash

It was nice to wake up in Sakura. I feel so at home here. Hopefully one day I will be able to afford an apartment here. As I was getting ready for the day my comm went off and I was informed that I had to attend a medical screening at the PA Hospital to screen for new highly contagious virus. I felt fine but I guess I better comply or they will do something to my ped card.

I got to PA and went to the outpatient area and sat and sat and sat some more, until finally I was seen and screened. Turns out I am free of the virus, but this check up wasted most of the day.

Since the hunting has been so good at Orthos I headed that way. This was one of the most uneventful hunts I have done in a while. The only thing I did was break even loot wise and pretty much wear out my current UL1....which means a loss for the day.

I shot 3000 rounds and made back in tt value 30.35 peds. I guess it could have been much worse. I think I might go mining tomorrow..I need a break from hunting.
