Oh and one more thing, the current SP1 for Vista is a "release candidate" or "beta" if you prefer. It has thousands of documented errors that you can read about if you're a technet subscriber. It is currently NOT recommended to install SP1 for Vista as an attempt to SOLVE problems at this time. My technical contact at Microsoft tell me that the REAL Vista SP1 will not be released untill end of March.

Yes, It can, but in emulated 32-bit mode, which does not give increased performance anyway. In worst case it'll end up giving you even less performance. Anyhow, in 32-bit native or emulated mode the kernel is limited to allocating a maximum of 2Gb RAM to a single process or executable anyway, no matter how much RAM you have.

Has anyone actually tried running on 64-Bit in 32-Bit emulation mode? Did they have issues etc? (Given now that for the most part, EU does actually work on Vista now (assuming in 32-Bit native.)) |

![]() Next question, really toward MindArk, are they going to make a 64-Bit compiled version? Does CryEngine2 support 64-Bit native operation? No information on the CryTek website about this. Given that within the next 10 years, all machines will be delivered as 64-Bit hardware and software implementations, it would really make sense for MindArk to factor in 64-Bit support as soon as possible. Would not be difficult for the 32-Bit clientloader and downloader to figure out which game files to download for a particular client. |

Yeah, that is most likley it. When they made that system performance check in the client loader they could have cheated and just asked the system how much RAM that is installed with a perfmon pointer. Instead they have asked how much RAM that is availible for allocation. Which will be 2Gb if you have 4Gb installed, since 2Gb is the max that can be allocated to entropia.exe under a 32-bit kernel.
