I think I may have stumbled accross an issue while I just happened to be watching the globals roll in



As far as I can tell the 1st and 3rd global were recorded but the 2nd one wasn't

Maybe it has something to do with the foreign characters?

No, that should be allright. However if there had been a global on the same mob with the same value within 2 min, then it wouldent roll in.

On the RAM issue - yes it is your RAM, and you can do anything you like with it but - if you have a book, it is yourbook, but you can't copy it for someone else within the law (not in the UK anyway). MA's program is in your RAM, but they have the copyright. Irrelevant of what the EULA says, you are "stealing" their program to extract something. They could even argue that they own the copyright for the global text. Now this brings in another intersting question. MA own the copyright for the EU graphics, so surely taking a screenshot violates their copyright? This could be a positive point for you, as you are therefore just moving to another equally bad system if you read the RAM, but it could work against you, as in they could now say that yes you are in fact breaking the copyright by taking screenshots.

Your analogy fails. If there's data in your ram, no one can deny you from accessing it. There's also something called fair use.

I'm not sure if Mindark can claim copyright over his data set because the data doesn't just belong to MA but also to the users who created it by globaling. It is also further limited by the fact that globals are in public view, so it can be argued that they are in the public domain and used as such.

That team global didn't appear on the live list though, and I can't seem to find it when I search

Updates..

Build a bug reporting system, mail system as well as added "average" values to the charts.

The avg values are there for everyone for now - but they will be avalible only to donating members in the near future. Also non-donating members will only have access to the last 30 days of data, whereas donating members will have access to "all data"...

I just saw the strangest thing...

I have my main game PC right.. where I play starfinder.. then I have my laptop with my GF's account thats runnign the program... I just noticed a global on my main computer.. which dident show up on my GF's computer... and my GF's computer has the same enabled in the chat as my main PC... thats FU**ED UP... how can I log all globals if its "random" if a computer shows it !! ??!?!!?!"#!""#"#!¤

That is F'd UP. But something I've wondered about.

As EU grows, how will they handle showing globals, etc.? I mean if (let's imagine) they're now at 2MM players with 500k concurrent, the current system will certainly not work. Raise the limit, show random on random computers, limit by continent, nearest city, etc?

globals don't always show on all clients... no way around it....
