Why do Romanians get a "special treatment"

Don't get me wrong here. It's a good thing if they overruled that general ban. It was a stupid thing to do anyway.

The answer is kinda obvious, isn't it?

There's no 'single incident' that caused this ofc.
Only reason why MA (Or any other business) would take such measures, is heavy overrepresentation of scammers, exploiters, CC swindlers etc. Kinda sad.

But let's remember that we do have some highly respected community members from Romania as well.

well its anyway stupid cuz the ones whom r punished r the honest ones , its not that hard to use a proxy or google for an ID the scammers wont be stoped by that , they didnt solve anything but atleas we can make an account only by sending and id and not do all the things that were written in the original post..

thing i know, it's that in 80-90s it was well known that romanians developpers
were "top of the art" in cracking and hacking, perhaps it's the same today
and someones try to crack eu

most newsagents here have lil signs on thier windows "no more than 2 school children at any one time"

its doesnt mean that all kids are thieves, it doesnt mean that all kids are dodgy.... it just means that "most" of the thefts they have happen to be from school children

and its exactly the same in eu. all teh romanians i know are cool and fun ppl (except for one :p lol) and MA requiring ID doesnt mean that romanians are scammers etc.... it just means that the bulk of the dodgy stuff seems to be coming from romania. Its prolly only 1 or 2 dodgy ppl with multiple accounts. But MA need to protect themselves.... and need to try to protect thier playerbase too

it will be interesting when china joins... there are a lot of ddos attacks on mmo's coming from china atm, usualy with some dodgy "pay us and it will stop" kinda message. and seeing as china is MA's golden egg, i wonder if they will be as fast to block a country and ask them for ID

Is not such a great effort if they ask those things to make an account. But they don't ask all the time. i know people that had an account without having to give those papers.

Romanians have a bad name in game mainly because there are few people that get involved in scamming activities. But they are just few with many accounts. Some buy ped from them, and that is bad for Romanians and for the game. You can always deposit, even if it is not as expensive as the rate a scammer has for peds, but it will not put your account at risk. I suppose is a deserved situation and it should stay like this until Romanian authorities take severe action in criminal activities on internet, credit card and ID stealing. At this point Anti Terrorist department is investigating such crimes and even if it sounds promising, the reality is that they move slow and most time they sleep on their #$%@ files.
When we will see few internet criminals in jail, we can expect to have decent treatment in decent virtual places. Until then, say thanks that you can play by sending those papers.
