"3 year non depositor" and this game is to expensive.
So in three years EU has only cost you time, computer wear and tear, and an internet connection?

OK I will admit MA has made changes in the past which have brought me to the brink of cashing out. I now know when I reach that point I just need to take a break from EU and the forums.

I am sure MA will make changes that will not be popular and they will make some that will be accepted maybe even applauded by the majority. Its human nature not to like change but life is constantly changing and EU mimics life in that respect. So we can either accept it or not. The challenge in PE/EU has always been adapting to the changes made by the developers.

I am sure there will be changes I don't agree with and there will be some I can see why they were made. Probably the one thing that will kill EU for me is not feeling like I am getting my entertainment dollars worth. Sometimes I win sometimes I lose but as long as I am having fun then I see value in EU.

Everyone has their breaking point though and I can think of a myriad of things MA could do to make people lose confidence in them so lets just hope they don't go down that road and they make EU a bustling virtual universe that is fun and people don't mind contributing a little cash to have fun now and then.

Is the fun still there?
I'm not sure. The last VU totally changed my way of life within EU, since I no longer can afford to hunt. My favorite mobs are now all fast regens, except for the bots and the Argos, but they hardly carry any loot since the VU.
Been playing for 1.5 years, with a steady $40-$50 deposit each month. I know, it's pocket money for some, but I've done good taking the cost in consideration.
This money kept me hunting and skilling crafting towards the next monthly deposit, sometimes cheap low-level hunting if loot were bad but never as bad as this. Last month my depo lasted one (1) hunt with close to zero return, and this months deposit disappeared yesterday, except for a 20% return on cost for the hunt. Never been this bad before, never.

So, is this post going somewhere or am I just rambling and whining?
Of course I'm whining, but to get back to topic, what would make me seriously consider leaving the universe is more of the fast regen crap, (heck, my merc is barely enough against an Atrox Provider anymore), tp fees, and most of the things others already said.
Another thing is how MA treats newcomers. They must find an additional way for newbies to make a living ingame, sweating isn't enough and finding fruits, small rocks and oil have never been a mean to get you somewhere. If this continues there will be no more newbies that can add to the economy, people give up before even thinking of depositing. I've been monitoring some newbies for some time now, and from what I've seen 8 out of 10 quits within a month. 1 of the 2 remaining in game keeps sweating but doesn't deposit, and for every non-depositor that stays on the total loot logically will drop a little. And to be cynical, it is the new players that makes the economy grow, providing the more luckier players with globals and hofs. We sligthly older, steady players just sees to that MA's account sheet balances..

Sorry, this became longer than intended but I've always been lousy at editing...

Mischief, the changes that took place at least made you (hopefully) realize that something is wrong with your way of playing the game.
The game has not become significatively more expensive, but u do have to make longer runs.
What worries me more, and a friend of mine is how much money is leaked off the game through all the land taxes. Allowing permanent ownership of a land area was probably not a smart move by MA in the long run, but it is ok if you're only planning the game not to survive another 5 years for example.

I agree with Sirc: if you're a non depositer, it doesn't make any sense to complain about increasing costs in the gameplay, lol.

Well some of us just draw a line. If it gets over that line a decision is made. thats why I don't say stuff like "low loots" or other blurry things that are not clear enough to draw a line.

That said, I like EU atm, I just have a little fear for the future.
I just want to give MA a signal about what we think goes too far...

What would make me quit ?

Hmm ... if MA started taking notice of what people say in threads like this ... that would be one sure-fire way.

That's my point, even if I might have disguised it well. To get some return I now have to make longer runs...
Sure, I'm not claiming to know how this game "should" be played, but so far, with my tiny deposits, I managed about 130 sologlobals, countless teamglobals and 5 HOFs of which 1 was a 11k uber.
And apart from some crafting globals and smaller HOF's I have never, yes, never, needed to do longer hunts than 300 peds including decay. That is, I'm sorry to say, how it worked before the last VU. If this continues, and you are right, i will be able to make 1 hunt every 3 months. That reason alone is enough to start thinking about quitting, I think.
However, I'm a slow learner and haven't realised that I'm screwed just yet and therefore continuing...
