Hi - Sorry if this is in the wrong place, i have been having trouble getting into EU for a week (can´t get in at all), and with help from support am pretty sure it´s down to the new router ( havn´t been able to login since i got it - so makes sense)
Thing is i´m totally stupid with computers and pretty much play EU ![]() So i think i need help to "forward the various ports to my computer" (i have the ports i need from support)( never had to do this with the old router) If it helps the router is a Telefonica - AMPER Xavi7868r - I have no idea how to access and change these settings. I´m in Spain (telefonica) and it is a wireless connection to my laptop. Any help would be much appreciated as i have been unable to login for over a month am having serious withdrawal issues.......i´m even researching techie things for heavens sake (though not very successfully!!)Thanx in advance |

Perhaps this will help... of course change the port numbers for the EU ports.
http://portforward.com/english/route...f_Warcraft.htm Otherwise... you'll just have to find the settings for Port Forwarding/NAT/Virtual Servers and send the ports to your PC's ip address GL |

- you'll need to remote into your router; this can usually be done by opening a web browser, typing in the router's ip address (the default address should be in the manual - sometimes 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.100), enter the username/pswd (should also be in your manual - default username is sometime admin, default pswd can depend - may be blank, may be 4 '1's)
- once logged in, you might see either a section labeled 'port forwarding', or perhaps 'gaming'. if you do not see either, you'll need to go through each section until you find it. - you will then need to forward the ports (as specified in the entropia documentation) to the ip address of your computer (can be found by clicking 'Start' > 'Run' > CMD > IPConfig) very basic instructions, let me know if that helps at all, or if it just muddled the situation - pm's welcome, can phone me if necessary, Moonie ![]() |

Hi, Im afraid I have bad news for you. I had neverending problems with my wifi+router, I kept loosing connection almost immediately in crowdy places, randomly at not so busy places. I had asus wifi (so not some cheap crap) and good new router.
I wrote support case to MA, they replyed that EU is very data hungry and that wifi cant handle this data flow (uber lol) and is not supported. Its good to mention that my wifi was designed for data flow @ 16 MB/s so theyr reply was just clear mega-crap. So, even if u manage to get it working somehow, im afraid u will suffer for many many many connection lost messages ![]() When I switched to cable, all is working again corectly. So thanks to MA, I have awesome 20m cable running throug my flat, thanks. PS: ALL other progs/games worked great on my wi-fi, just EU is so ,,data flow hungry,, event the best wi-fi cant handle it. OMG |

Maybe contact you ISP (Telefonica?) or google "AMPER Xavi7868r"? Or perhaps read the manual how to disable the firewall in the router (and turn it back on when you have made the withdrawals).

Don't forget most (should be all) wifi is encrypted and it could be that causing the problem but I don't suggest turning the encryption off to get EU to work.
As for port forwarding to make any game work personally I've never had to resort to it yet and I've used routers on my adsl from the day I got it. I would suggest checking if your maxmtu isn't too big. My first router seemed terrible until I set my systems maxmtu to 1400 at which point my connection was perfect, there are plenty of utilities that can set it for you. I've used drtcp http://www.dslreports.com/drtcp on my current system but you should only change the maxmtu from the default setting but remember if your not sure about it, don't change it. Read this as well http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks/MTU |

And you kept loosing connection with your router in "crowdy places" ? Sorry to say it like that, but you write crap! Even if you would have a 16000 DSL connection at home, there is surely no guarantee that you would have that speed from a hot spot, more likely you would get around 30Kbyte/s . Also I would not know of a mobile WiFi router or even see the need in one, if the laptop has WiFi integrated. Not to mention that even if you had a 100Mbit connection between two computers, you would still only get around 10-12 MByte/sec in a LAN. And I highly doubt you have a 100MBit connection to the internet. |

Sorry, but i didn't really get your problem, if the cable connection works fine, it's for sure not the routers firewall causing problem.
Then you wrote something about crowdy places... it's usually not that crowded in my living room, don't really get what you meant here, too. Quote:
From your "20m" cable, i assume that you have several walls between you and the router, and this will greatly reduce performance, even if connected at low transfer rates, the packet losses are above an acceptable level. If you really insist on playing on a low quality connection, buy a cheap wlan repeater and put it in the middle between you and your router - not the best setup for pvp stuff due to high latency, but enuff to play. |
