some sidethoughts:

Do u think the cnd noob with his ath got it with a tt finder at his first 5 bombs without amps?
I can easily burn 10k ped in an hour mining, without getting a decent return. You do not know if he first used 80k ped, to find that ath, right?

Do u think the game would be as interesting without the chance of hitting big? Ok, better returns are worth a lot, but so is getting the big lot. And it's not always noobs who get those...

If EU is not for you (anymore), respect for that. Not everyone succeeds in making up his mind about going another road.

I want to ask one more thing: Does anyone, when joining EU, really think they will make money in a virtual world, by making the game developer a little poorer? Ok Sony is loosing money with its PS3, but if the game designers want to feed their rabbits, they'll go cut some grass at the side of the road instead of setting up a virtual environment...

And yes, i know exactly how you feel. All the recent big ATHs in mining (120k zinc, 76k lyst) went to complete noobs, who are not even on ET's top100 of miners. And now this. 10k and 40k to a comparative noob miner (~46 intelligence iirc), when me with almost 56 intellingence (and many others) can't even get their first freaking tower Let alone towers, i can't even get a decent uber, only two 1k+ claims in mining despite tens of thousands (if not hundreds) of bombs/probes droped with big amps.

One of the worst effects such events have is that they totally DEMOTIVATE to play EU. This evening i logged in to do some cnd mining, and then i saw the HoF table... i was so disgusted and appaled that i just logged out and spend the rest of evening browsing forums.. MA is just making 1 noob happy and pushing away hundreds of real participants.

I understand that noobs can (and should) score some nice hofs from time to time, but not 75% of ATHs and leave the veteran players paying for all of that. System needs to somehow reward efforts, time spent and etc. spent.. whereas it is rewarding noobiness

I totally agree Moonbiter, logging on and seeing the 40k narcanism this morning was a real slap in the face. It made me realize i am wasting my time, all of us are actually. I truly feel for you moonbiter, I cant think of too many miners off the top of my head that deserve a drill tower more than you do. I hope you can stick it out until you find your big one, as for me, I need to get my peds out while I still have enough to afford a cryengine computer.

here's a thought .... if they spent that many peds on bombs then if you scanned them they wouldnt have noob skills like she does and several other who got big ATH recently ..... just a thought.

WoW sucks, they destroyed whole game with SOULBOUND system...I HATE IT...THE ONLY WAY TO GET UBER ITEMS IS TO SACRAFICE WHOLE LIFE...TO PLAY AND DO 4-6H RAIDS...LMAO, blizzard sucks at this point, so I quitted WoW and now I am happy again with Entropia Universe
