In fact the egg had a spring-like mechanism in which something would have popped out of it at one point. So far so good.

The bad part about this is that the mechanism was supposed to be triggered by some time-algorithm involving a clock. That of course needed power (even though just low amounts of it) to work and keep checking the time and so on. At one point though that battery died.

So basically now we have that egg which won't open any time soon.
