to trusting - a sad state of affairs

Well guys and girls it is looking like i've been "scammed" *sigh*. I guess I just have to learn not to be so trusting. Over a week ago now I entrusted 1k of resources with someone to sell on my behalf. The person in question I had only known for about 2 maybe 3 days max. They had been online regularly throughout this time and we chatted a reasonable amount. However, since handing over the 1k of ores I haven't seen this person online once. Now I admit there may be a perfectly valid reason for this but considering how often the person was online prior the couple of days we'd been talking sadly i'm inclined to think the worst. Now this isn't a post about me griping. This is a post about me being disappointed in the fact that it just really isn't possible to trust people nowadays. At the end of the day the resources are worth about $140 and I guess this just proved to "tempting" for the person in question. I know a lot of people will jump up and down saying how stupid I am for handing over the resources without collatoral etc. However, $140 isn't a kings randsom (heck I can and have lost more on a horse race) and therefore if it turns out i've lost it it won't worry me overmuch. After all the person "may" still turn up. What bothers me more is someone that would gain peoples confidences with the sole purpose to rip them off. I have plenty of people on my fl that I regular lend and also borrow peds/items too. There's one guy, even though i've never met him and only know him through here that I wouldn't have any qualms about lending a reasonable amount of peds too. Although of course if it got to a ridiculous amount then i'd secure callatoral.

It's just a shame that as time goes by it becomes harder to trust people.

But I think you should try waiting for a while more.. Anything could happen
You could try writing a support case and tell them to track the PEDs.. if you got scammed that is..

That's pretty low-like to scam someone for a mere amount of 1,400 PED.. a good friendship is more valuable than a little amount of money..
Some people just are ready to go real low...

Yep it was a little amount of time that I had known this person. However, we had talked extensively for the short time we'd known each other and like you say a good friendship is certainly worth more than 1400ped. Maybe something is preventing him fro accessing EU at the moment. If that's the case then I would hope it isn't to serious. As far contacting MA they would be unable/unwilling to do anything about it I imagine. After all it was my "mistake" in trusting the guy.

Sad to hear

I've been stung like this a few times myself, and by people I've known far longer. There's no safe period in reality - some people you just can't trust.

I haven't stopped trusting people, but I am more cautious for sure.

Well, best thing is not to dwell on it. Take it on the chin, and evaluate what's best for you to do next. My best advice would be to value those around you whom you can trust.

My socmates are some of the most trustworthy people I know. I'd entrust any of my ingame wealth to just about any of them. Good friends.
