beacon questions

Yesterday I found two beacons while mining within a two hour span. The finds gave me about a 375ped from selling the stuff in the loots. My question was how long do these beacons last? Because, I was thinking about trying to just purely hunt those. Also, is it completely random on how often they spawn? I'm sure these questions have been answered before, but It's easier to ask this way, plus I have zero posts..soo....

Thanks for any replys

Maybe around half an hour or so. You generally go with a team of about 6 people, so it doesn't take long to kill all the mobs, but you need a decent number of people to make sure you collect all the loot at the end.

Who knows, it is believed they are spawned by people mining.

In any case, if you plan roaming the countryside looking for them, you're in for a lot of boredom. They just don't spawn enough to make looking for them a worthwhile activity on its own. They're just a nice little bonus for miners.

Gratz on nice finds.
And no, you can't count on finding them often. They are completely random (except they probably show up when there is need for them - when MA wants them to hit the market). You can find seven per week or none for years. They are not like resource. You can't mark on your map: "Here be beacons" and come back there to get more within few days as you can do with most of resources. All my spacecrafts were in different locations, not all contained beacon missions.

Beacon mission itself takes about 30-45 minutes I think, you need some people with good agility for them (I suppose at least one person with agi over 70 will be ok) to loot all boxes.

TT value means difficulty level, 23 lowest, 42 highest (there are 2 kind of 35 ped beacon, 1110 "easy" and 1111 "hard")

You were extremely fortunate in finding 2 that way. They are a bit of a rare find. And judging by the last 3-4 beacon runs I've done, you're better off selling them than using them.

wow, well I wish you good frigging luck!! Finding ships happens very rarely, even when you are in the most common locations. The fact that you found 2 ships in one run is crazy lucky - I suggest you go and buy a couple lottery tickets

As far as I know a beacon has no expiry date, and I'm pretty sure like everything else in the game their spawn rate is determined by how many are actively in game.

Many people - such as myself - will buy a beacon only to hold onto it for a week or more waiting for a time when enough soc mates are on to do it. During that time I wouldn't expect another beacon to spawn in that location for a while.

but all that aside...

I think it's an interesting concept, mining only for ships. I suppose it's possible the best tips I could give are to check the auction for other beacons and see where they are located. Those are the common places to find ships. Then go and drop bombs spaced like 150 - 200 m apart... I'm not sure what the max distance you can detect a ship is but it's alot further than you can find a claim - sadly...

Ships can be anywhere.. I have done many beacon missions and i have only spawned 1 ship mining after dropping bombs and probes up to level 25 prospecter and 22 surveyor. And that didnt have a beacon on it.. And i randomly found someone else's ship one day waited ten mins and took it.. But that had a beacon inside.. Both of these were found by no Beacon landing zones(as there is only certain areas that u can leave from).. So i do not think there is common areaas to find them.. Just think you can find them by mining anywhere..

And before we get into a whole diffrent topic.. MA allready announced these for sure are spawned by miners.. Many posts about that..

"off topic"

Price of beacons are just stupid nowadays!!!!
