Cryengine req?

Does anyone know of a place to check out the system requirements of the new cry engine update? Or does anyone actually know the requirements?
I'm running a system with
2.4ghz processor
2gb ram
nvidia 8400 grphcs card
and vista........
....I can currently run EU on highest setting with no lag but how will the new cry engine affect mine and everyone elses p.c performance???

I think the stock answer here is to say "download the crysis demo and try it out"

But no one knows. We may have to scale back the settings for a while.

With that setup Steve, I hazard a guess that you'll be fine, i think the minimum req graphics card for the actual Crysis game is a 6800 (sucks for me, got a 66). But I honestly don't think Entropia is gonna be as full on as Crysis, I reckon MA will scale back some features.

I have 2.1ghz, 4gigs ram, 8400 with 256megs dedicated memory and vista on a HP laptop and I ran a demo of cry engine and it worked fine. There is a link to the demo somewhere on the forum but I can't find it but I am sure someone will know where it is and hopefully post it here. If I remember Kimmi posted the link on a thread.

I can say, without doubt, your system can run the cryengine. Very likely on high for some settings. For crysis anyway. Your GFX is the most outstanding bit of hardware that the engine requires.

So as for entropia, I shouldn't expect it to be as demanding as crysis is. It has no reason too. So your system will be fine. Or at least be as long as software is okay.


Some people will likely feel the loss of quality and gameplay, but what is being done is a cryengine update, not crysis exactly. As an mmo things will need to be toned down a bit, many avatars moving, on screen, with each one with a normal map, shader model 2.0 or 3.0, shadows, would be intense for many.
Not everyone will also have a good enough computer, which will lose MA customers, so its likely low specs will be catered for. Not normal maps, shaders and such.

Be interesting to see what the maximum graphics put in will be, volumetric light perhaps, the lighting...
