still not sure, it's a bit more planning then if it was only a 2 hour drive, but hopefully I can take some of my vacations to go. so ok I didnt help much for your question but hey... BUMP :P

Hello their Carol,

This is Steve Scott we spoke a few weeks ago over the phone about me hosting a Real life meet for some members of Entropia Universe at your facility Head2Head Games on Saturday August 8th 2009. At the moment im looking at only 10 to 15 people showing up 20 at max a few with their own laptops probably. They will be coming in from across Ontario, Quebec, and a few from Usa i beleive as well. Im looking to show up for 11 or 12pm so im their as people trickle in through out the afternoon. im planning 2 online events ingame each an hour long probably starting from 3pm to 5pm afterwards real life entropia swag is being awarded as prizes and hopefully we will disperse for dinner at a near by resteraunt. people can return from their after wards for some more gaming or head home.

I came into your establishment this afternoon and was impressed with the PC gaming computers you have set up, tho i went on internet station #30 at the front as my game wasnt on your computers and the online download takes 3 hours for me at home so i had to bring my own disc i got at a convention for the game in Toronto.
I was able to install it on the computer tho the login page stated the fx 5300 graphic card didnt meet their system requirements. I was able to get it running but it was unplayable due to lag was very choppy im assuming due to the graphics card rather then the connection. Come to find out the back gaming computers did not have a cd rom on the towers so i was unable to try them out.

The clerk did tell me that you would be able to put the game on your server for the event date so that it is playable on the back computers. So i left a copy of the game cd rom at the counter for you to use since the dl online is very long. After installing the cd rom disc its only about 20 minutes of updates before it will work on each computer.

So i justed wanted to see what the price would be on one of the meeting rooms for a few of us with laptops to sit in and for others to leave their coats and things and possibly use it also to hand out the awards etc. I figure for the most part the peoplel coming in can just rent time on the back computers for the events if theirs enough computers available. and im just requesting anyone that has a laptop capable of playing bring that just incase their arent enough seats.

So a question i do have is how the internet access works for thos in the lan meeting room if i was to rent one out. do they still have to pay the hourly rate or is the internet included in the cost of the room? and do they have to be in the room to get that internet or can they sit on the main floor with everyone else for the event?

Sorry for taking so long to email you Carol and sorry for the long message but i have put alot of thought into this as you can see lol. So if you can get back to me with pricing, if i need a deposit etc. that be great!

So as of right now i am planning on renting out the lan room for anyone with their own laptops wont have to pay for internet and it will also be used to hand out prizes and such.

the cost forrenting the computers otherwise for anyone coming without their own comp is 5 bucks an hour which i thought was pretty cheap!

i didnt get to try one of their back computers but once Carol has the game installed i will go back for a test run just to make sure the events will be doable. the comps in the back do look pretty wicked was watching some guys play other games and that 9600 graphic card sure does make one hell of a difference

Glad to hear things are progressing - wish I had of known you were comming to check out head2head - would have come downtown and joined ya.

Hopefully I will have a new laptop by then, if not I'll be renting some gaming time for sure lol

i was thinking something simple that everyone could participate in nothing to uber. Maybe a Atrox hunt event and a Pvp opalo event ?

what do you guys think?

Also i was considering doing a small 3 day ad here on ef. i jabe just enough efd to cover a 3day ad but really have no experience in that type of thing ...

anyone any good at that ? wanna make upa cool banner or even better a short flash banner ?

would be nice to get this out their a bit more....

Edit: Carol from Head2Head got back to me again EU should be going on her server shortly so we can play on the kick ass game comps.
I'll give ya a heads up Xander as i want to go back and do a test run on the gaming comps.
