Yes agreed, likewise in hearing this said since day one also.

I guess you get to a point where you realise that MA is making an attempt to stay ahead of developments & technology as it changes.

I agree they have rushed a lot in churning stuff out which diminishes the overall worth of the Entropia Universe service and the organisations' reputation in the market.

Hopefully this does change as time progresses.

I say this having recently clashed with Marco in PMs on the subject surrounding the focus and direction of the service;

I concluded from this that Marco is dedicated to his announced mission and is on the ball as far as improving the way things are done by the organisation - With the eventual goal to establish a seperate identity for FPC away from the prior way business was handled by the MindArk parent entity.

MindArk (as a whole) is presently going through some major internal and external organisation restructural changes, so things are a little messy atm which is to be expected if you have had the pleasure (sarcasm) of being through a company restructure where things are tipped on their head somewhat.

I guess we will have to wait and see how things do turn out, and over time, look for improvements to the way the business is handled with the quality of work produced and what measures are taken to ensure it is introduced into the environment in a professional manner.

ie. Not rushed, tasks completed, goals accomplished, milestones reached and accountability including what Marco or other FPC officials state is actually what ends up occuring etc.

I have always been willing to give Marco the benefit of the doubt and for myself personally, I feel a couple of years is a fair enough chance to allow him to demonstrate his continued commitment and ability to improve the Calypso business.

I wanted to clear the air with my previous post not being one of the usual hang in there, things will improve - How long is a piece of string posts.

I am far from being a sucker or a hopeless optimist.

I am very much a mixed realist and optimist in one.

You may have noticed which of the above is predominantly displayed in my approach is and will be highly driven by FPC's ability to maintain confidence through demonstrated duty of care, professionalism and commitment to improvement in the resulting outcomes of what has been produced that is not half hearted/arsed.

Marco is one man in charge of reforming a number of others in his office/team in their day-to-day approach to business (modus operandi) to produce results for FPC - A now highly focus customer orientated based business in the market.

The issue of the past MA company culture (mindset) with attached establish co-worker relations prior to the inception of FPC can prove difficult in undertaking such transformations in that his authority as CEO can be easily undermined if he is too soft (or hard) in the new position to drive this future success of FPC and attached customer orientated Calypso business in the market.

^^ This transformation will definitely take time before we will see the effects of the resulting outcomes on a regular basis which we as customers can remain confident will continue.

Sure FPC will make mistakes and at times lapse in both judgement and work ethic, this is natural for all businesses.

I think a fair-go is once again required with the hope that FPC (All members) have finally learned from their past as part of the MindArk parent entity that the old ways are not acceptable if they wish to truely make this service (Planet Calypso) a future success.

I wished that they had held back on cry2 update as clearly it was not ready for for release. every one on EF was saying the prefer to wait for a working EU rather than a infinished EU release Shame MA did not listen.

have to agree a lot of things have been lost. we need a new trading areas,

selling ME 200% @ stairs or @ boxes, or even crazy dancing sessions on the roof at PA.

as other say maybe in time these areas willl eb cretased or made by the community as wela ll find our places in EU life. For me though its its brake time from EU as I find it too fustraing too play and half broken EU.

I see Entropia returning to its 9.4 state with every VU, a few weeks ago we were able to teleport and chip in/out once again, this week apartments were returned and so on.

Sweating will be back, taming and all the other things and in the mean time we have the chance to loot long ago forgotten or improved versions of existing items. New discoveries are a daily occurrence.

Yes the towns have changed but overall I see it as the change from going from Windows 98 to Vista, to start with you don't like it as you cant find functions but with time you'll grow to love the new look and adapt to the changes.

I know exactly what you mean. Sakura is now a dull sterile city lacking any of the aesthetic charm it once had. The buildings are huddled closely together and the Trade Centre has even been moved closer than it was at the beginning of the new VU. They did at least put turrets in to keep the Atrox at bay.

I have seen a lot of attention to detail in areas far away from any TP while the old cities are being either ignored or reduced to third rate status. I have a good bit of patience but in this case it isn't patience we need it's hope. Hope that MA/FPC makes these cities someplace people will want to go to. Places players will want to buy apartments, shop and generally hang out. As it currently stands, I stay at an outpost in the middle of nowhere with a Service Centre and plenty of mobs around. No real need to wander around anywhere else.

based on some old idea’s.

I know it’s still early and I hope Mindark brings back the magic to Entropia Universe. Because I feel without this magic, Planet Calypso will be nothing
more then a shadow of it’s former glory.

So how do you feel about the new Planet Calypso ?

teleports

The thing that jumped out for me (among other things)
is the teleport chips.
I never had that in the old version and thought it always looked cool.. rather pimpin, but now i have a chip and ME i use it and it's lammmme. just a way to get some distance.

Unfortunately I went back in looks and the only thing that keeps me interested in eu is that it still has potential. But then MA has to chance their way of working because they do not even listen that good to the planet partners. And I see that as a major downside.

Anyway lets hope FPC can get their new and old features up and running really quickly and I am in fully convinced that the FPC side will be generated fast and good.

So far for me EU is a MASSIVE disappointment, which unfortunately is exactly what I exected from them.

New skins on everything does NOT make the game / service any better then it was before. It not only is not attracting the bajillion new players it is losing more and more interest from the die hard EU playerbase.

Simple things they have done to adversely effect the entire community is just unfathomable. I STILL swear they are trying to make everyone leave to be dead honest.

There has not been one change in EU that I have found yet that has not come from a sadistical mind. Common sense would dictate they make positive changes to make the beast grow. Not only are they not even trying to make things better to attract people they are intentionally making things worse.

Simple things like adding 100M altitude to nearly every square kilometer in the game as a mining adjustment, to making the ability to explore are nearly impossible because we STILL can not climb simple hills. 65% of the areas I have explored again are totally useless. The mountains are unpassable in most cases and the few you can climb take 15 minutes to get far enough from your last bomb drop so you can drop the next.

I wont even bring up the second greedy age as yet again miners are lost in the dark as usual. Anyway enough before I really get fired up and turn this into a trash EU fest.

In all honesty me too, this kinda feels like a new game. Maybe things will get better with time... But there's just something missing from the whole picture...
