The reward from FPC could be something with markup, with low tt as usually, so it wont cost em almost nothing.

PS: Slight offtopic: when MA give any presents/prizes, they give just tt! So when someone thinks, my god they so generous, they gave up 10 full shadow sets, this cost soo much peds... No, they gave you just tt value, markup is payed by players. MA really isnt too generous IMO.

Marco and his gang have indeed created something new based on something old that we used to love and hate, depending on our ped card balance. And if they think that the bulk of the work is behind them, they are kidding themselves.

They have to clean up this new world… remove boulders and threes from the middle of the road… make every road go someplace and not stop in the middle of nowhere, they have to make the game more clean, complex and FUN.

They also have to make all of us fall in love with this new world, they have to make us feel that we are not constantly feeding FPC’s hungry bank account, but that from time to time we get a break and we actually win something. All that is yet to come… and it has to be handeled A LOT better than this SGA thing.

and BTW... I miss Hadenheim. Walking trough that city always gave me the impression that there are indeed GREAT things to come... all those empty buildings had to one day be filled with something, they had to be given a meening... instead, they have been distroyed.... lame and dissapointing...

p.s. I'm still wayting to see when the Exchanges will finaly open and i'm curious to see how they will work.... unless some robot attack distroys them all...

Let me try to explain what was the ‘magic’ to me, that I feel is lost.
Planet Calypso is a world that is colonized by people from Earth.

What I found is that Planet Calypso had connections to different countries, or area’s from Earth. Take Sakura City, it had a clear connection to Japan, Asia.
New Switzerland with it’s forests and white mountains had a connection with Swizterland and the alpines in Europe, and maybe even to Canada.
Monipolis had a connection to Central America, only it’s not a clear connection, to Mexico I think. Hadesheim to me had a connection to the US and big cities like New York. Plams Corner to me had a connection with south America, it reminded me of Inca cultures.

And then there were the signs of history in the game.
All over Eudoria you would find remains of battles with the robots.
Tanks, thick wall and defence cannons. Zychion Citadel and the battle ground there, gave me the impressions that it had been at the center of a heavy battle.
Maybe this sounds strange, but when I was in Zychion it gave me a feeling of respect for what had happened there. Maybe it’s a connection with Earth’s world wars, I don’t know. Most Cities with ‘Fort’ in their name, where that, a fort with thick wall around them.

Then there is Billy’s SpaceShip Afterworld, the final resting place from some old spaceships. The natural museum in Port Atlantis, fine arts gallery in New Oxford.

Planet Calypso was to me a world with a clear history, a world that had been colonized by people. A world people had fought for. That was to me Entropia Universe it’s Magic. And I think that is why many loved it, the feeling that your in a new world as one of the first.

Now it feels like I walked into theme park, something without a history.
I do hope Mindark brings back the history to it’s planet.

Entropia Universe lost its magic for me long before VU 10.

The magic of EU in my eyes was

- having places to explore
- Meeting lots of strange and exotic creatures
- Discovering many new activities to partake in.

That magic went after maybe a year of playing. I had done everything there was to do be done, and it felt like the fun was over and it was time to get down to work.

The magic actually came back with VU 10 for me. As much as i miss the old graphics (old old, before VU 9.0) I think the new graphics are amazing, as is the new world we have to explore, and the exciting future we have in store for us with the new planets, and systems on our own planet.

I understand totally how you feel, we have just photo's and video's to remind us of the old world, but we must adapt to survive.

I think all you said is true. Really Calypso have not magic now. I hope only that Calypso is not finished yet. Because many beautifull things in 9.4 version was lost in 10.1.2. I wish magic returns to our game, because this is not only a game from Mindark, this game is yours and mine, and from the all players too.

As i only begin to feel what the community is made of, I know some will urgently answer am out of topic with this post. Anyway... Read this ->

Do you remember PA in VU9.4 and its lag?
Do you remember mobs bugs trying to follow you while you were changing of server?
etc.

Now, do you think that you'll remember VU10 bugs and imperfections when all will be fixed and you'll have played for a time?

Again, it's easier to blam things and people than to organize ourself and construct the future.

Yes agreed - MA would only need to allocate the rewarded item at 1 millipec TT value of which the participant can go and repair it;

^^ Including unlimited sib item rewards with a 50% condition limit.

Also to circumvent the BASE department concerns of how do we control/maintain/guide the economy;

A. MA should practice what they preach in that the economy will sort itself out to a high degree - Participant choices. (It's the force)

B. i. This can be achieved through the mission NPC indicating to a participant looking to accept the mission with reward attached the number of other participants who are currently actively working upon that same mission & reward.

Added: ii. Statistics showing how many participants have completed the mission in the last 3 months, 6 months, year & decade can be displayed to aid with the participant's decision to undertake the mission.

C. i. Limits would need to be enforced with missions/quests in that an account that has not logged in for X number of days (60-days?) will have their active mission cancelled no-matter what stage of completion it is up to.

ii. 2 or 3 missions of such nature can be embarked upon at any one given time by a participant - No registered kills towards a mission objective point tally within (60-days?) will cancel the mission from the mission/quest journal.

Personally I think 60 days is too long, 45-days should be the maximum as some people are paid IRL on a monthly basis.

Excuses such as:
  • My computer died,
  • We are going away for holidays with the family for a few months,
  • Work is sending me overseas for a few months,
  • I can't deposit atm to continue with the missions in my journal

As to why a mission can not be worked upon within this 45-day period should be submitted via support with the request to place the participant's mission journal on-hold if the excuse is deemed valid by FPC.

Your employer IRL will not let you take unpaid for leave off your signed employment contract for an extended period if you do not have a valid reason;

Why should the virtual life mission contract arrangement be any different?

Entropia attempts to reflect real world economy conditions as best it can.

it has not lost it's magic.

it's better all the way, i like the big TP machines.
i'm glad the old port atlantis is gone.
never had something with twin ...... exept the irritating pets and the irritating lag / noise from shooting ppl.

though i think twin will die out now , i see corrinth becoming the new market mekka.
and then u have the new oxford crap , Yeehah it's good to see FPC did the same trick with oxford as they did with the big bang city.
hop and it's gone.
though the bank there has been set a bit high don't u think


only thing i miss is miniopolis though i did not come there much.

A couple of points:

One place with a really good view, much easier to get to than Wolverine: The mountain north of Swamp Camp. I managed to get nearly to the top (with a little work, I might manage the top) and the view is really quite spectacular if your machine can handle it.

Twin might well go down as a market place more than a little, for one reason; at night it is way too dark. There has to be something wrong when the traders have to be holding a big glowing sword so that you can see them! Cape Corinth? Perhaps.

PA used to be a hive of activity as far as trading was concerned; now nothing like so much. So much so, in fact, that I've stopped trying to sell the assorted Pixie parts I have collected. Perhaps because noobs have no money these days?

I was embarrassed a little yesterday. I am not much more than a beginner myself (max level of 8) but I found myself escorting a noob to Swamp Camp so he could try a little fruit/stone walking. As this is the only option left for a non-depositor... (No, I couldn't give him some stuff to get him started. I am far from rich myself.)

On the subject of Swamp, another problem now is actually getting there in the first place. Exas near PA are a problem, and so is the big spawn of combibos up to Old straddling the final stretch of the approach path. It is possible to avoid this spawn (turn right as soon as the first red dot appears on radar) but how is a noob going to know that?

Note that I am talking from the perspective of an unarmoured, unarmed noob with agility 1 when I make these comments. For a noob fresh off the shuttle, a combibo young is a major problem. For example.

For me, the magic came back with vu 10. Sure there were/ar bugs, missing systems etc, but we had to take some steps backwards to make a big leap forward(we havent taken the leap yet, thats planet partners etc).

Ive been here for nearly 5 years, and ive seen the broken promises, but id rather judge them on what they have done with vu 10 so far. Im not all that pleased with the state vu 10 was released in, but i am fairly pleased with the progress they have made since then. And im fairly certain the pace will continue for the next month or two.

But vu 10 finally has me somewhat exited again. We waited so long for signs of new development, and we finally have that. Signs that they are actually working on the game. Sure its working to recreate the old systems, but they are actively doing stuff. Which leaves me hopeful for the new systems.

As was posted in this thread i think the mission system will be huge. Its badly needed. One has to have goals they can knock out, they need to be able to realistically upgrade their gear through hunting. I just hope it comes out by year end or early next year and not the end of next year.

Plant partners are also potentially huge. Again i hope they are out by year end.


Ill agree that some of the historic feel of cylapso is gone, and hopefully they can add some little touches after they get other things out of the way. I also liked walking through old battle zones....but even then the visual quality of the old battle relics was HORRID. I also liked the little area touches such as sukara, but i think those will return in time. To be honest i dont want either to get a priority over restoring the systems(team, cp, sweat, new experience, mindforce, etc), implementing a mission system, and getting planet partners out... After those sure.

What i want to see by the end of Q1 2010. All previous systems restored, planet partners(at least 1 out), mission system implemented, and newb expierence overhauled(gotta draw more people). Not necessarily in that order. For instance make the pet system low priority because it needs a complete overhaul.
