Hi all,
yes you read it right, to me Entropia Universe lost it’s magic. Hunting, crafting, mining is still there, but a lot of things I miss. Teleporting is back, but missing that magic animations of leaving and arriving. Focus and heal chips aren’t back yet, but I wonder how it will be. Sweating, some indications that it will also have to do without it’s magic. No more sweat dance, no more green beams. And I miss the cities, like Port Atlantis, it had a small harbor before, now there is nothing to validate the name ‘port’. I remember the day I walked onto the arrival zone the first time, after creating my avatar. The wide open space of the space port, made it feel like you actually arrived at an space port. Now it’s more like arriving in somebody’s backyard. Same with the new Athena Space Port, ehm looks more like a health spa to me, and seems to have nothing to do with space travel. New Oxford, killed and as I understand it, not coming back, sad to see such a nice city disappear. I miss the blue service station at Nea’s Place, it was to me the symbol of Nea’s. Cities Like Sakura and Treasure Island City, lost their personal touch that made each unique. Minopolis is just a shadow of one of the most beautiful cities. For now, it feels like I said farewell to Entropia Universe and started a new game, based on some old idea’s. I know it’s still early and I hope Mindark brings back the magic to Entropia Universe. Because I feel without this magic, Planet Calypso will be nothing more then a shadow of it’s former glory. So how do you feel about the new Planet Calypso ? . Give it time,
The new foundation and modeling has a lot of refining to be done. It will be a good couple of years before Calypso will be magical again in respect to what you have mentioned. Think of it as Calypso having taken several steps backwards in magic to update the looks potential. We lost the old magic, however there will be new magic to be created over time. Hopefully with some of it having more useability & functionality attached in the RCE environment this time around ![]() I am remaining positive to what the future may hold for those of us who remain patient. I haven't touched EU in a long time, and granted didn't get far. Most of what I knew essentially doesn't exist right now due to the 'upgrade'.
I however expected this. In any MMO, whether it be something like WoW, or EU. Any major 'expansion' or 'upgrade' -will- break things regardless of how many people or how much money they pump into the project.
