Of course isn't 100k scanning skills. 8k in scanning robot is only a part of total skills. Scanning skills help in various areas. Average successrate raise in crafting as an example. I don't wanna use more time discussing it further with you. -rep for the unserious comments.

Just out of curiosity, how can you prove that skills work?

Take for example mms.
How can it be proven that this actually does anything at all?
Because as that skill goes up so do all the other skills that you already had.

What is mms actually doing (if anything)?

I can see the link that some skills do work by adding to hp but what about other 'base' skills like agility, that cannot be linked to any other skill because it would go up with chip use and it doesn't.

You can prove that skills work today with testing, testing and further testing.
I know that not every skill have a function yet, but those who don't have a function sure will have it in the future. Sure ppl will whine about it, like they did when unskilled ppl suddenly run slower then ppl with some skills.

Well No, PE is not an easy game, but it's only not easy because of the rules.
The fighting itself is not too exciting. I mean come on, we can't avoid hits, can't tumble, dash, walk on walls, or roll around.

Walking speeds are slow, shooting is only in one direction, and no way to get double pistols or something like that.

PE is not hard to PLAY. PE is hard to PAY for. You always lose money unless at some point you deposited.

I never miss during hunt. I lose money not because I'm a bad shot or a stupid combatant. I lose peds because mobs come out empty.

Gunz, for instance, is a hard game to play. Survival there is crucial, and you have a lot of control over body movements. Even though skills are absent in that game, the player is challenged not financially, but gameplaywise. You can run like hell, run walls, saumersault, tumble, block hits, use flashbangs, etc., but bullets still fly faster.

PE was kinda ruined for me after version update 6. When speed of runners slowed down, and empty mobs were introduced.

Skills are easy to get now, even if you make no damage, you may receive skill on randomly generated basis, I assume, if you hit the target of course.
Skill chips were very disturbing for me to see. I think that idea hurt MA. High end players received a chance to bail out, sell their skills, withdraw, and quit the game. I doubt many people did that though.

The fact stays a fact: my Friend List holds 35 people. It used to be always full. Now it's empty like a grave. All the top posters here, I never see ingame anymore.

Explore? How can I explore? I've never even been to space because I had no peds, and no sexy female avatar to attract horny geeks to get me rides for free .

Anyhow, the game is ruled by the hand of the Mighty PED.

Combat controls are very rudimentary. PE won't become a rich man shoot up, because it's not too suitable as a shoot up game in the first place. Avoiding robot blasts is impossible no matter in which direction you run or how wildly you jump.

I think it's just that the game is moving away from combat and more towards roleplay for money. Like... farming, and poop gathering, and land ownership... that kind of thing. A virtual home with cozy apartments.

It's like an addiction of a sort. I dont play often anymore because that is what I am missing. The live battle action. I'm bored of shooting mobs, running straight at you along the line over and over and over again. Cancellation of trapping methods took the last fun out of tactics. I need a shoot up game. And PE is changing its orientation away from it.

But be careful though:
If servers go down and all data is gone, I will be losing a shooter game.
But y'all rich peoples will be losing your cozy apartments, your nifty thingies, and long collected souvenirs. Your animal plantations and wall decorations, space shuttles, and expensive armor suits.

It's just like it was in Fight Club: "Things you own end up owning you"

skilling is fun but of course the game needs to develop and evolve, If skilling is not for you maybe try some of the other aspects of the game like land/estate management & shopkeeping, the great thing about pe is the incredible diversity

I totally agree with everything in your post Maniac, however just decided to quote that - and the reason for this is the appartments - wtf are people using that for, other than showing off as a dude in a beemer would show of his nifty shiny metal...

I wont use a goddamn appartment ever, I run in my own crafted clothes (yea they are ugly - but GODDAMN cheap compared to the other people that I know (IRL too) that run in thousands of peds tailorings..)

I know these two IRL girls too that really are into wearing nice *sexy* clothes, dancing to people and such. But why? If I sell that in auction I would have 50,000 rounds of ammo would be my thinking... but hey - I'm just a hunter NOT a fashion artist or a lap dancer

skills skills.... sure they work. but MA didn recognize one important thing - skill chips and skill transfering is much more dangerous for game balance as auto faping and auto skilling was before. there are limited amount of imp/mod faps. but there are much more pplz who wanna them. now with skill buying anyone who have a litle bit free cash can buy some skills. sooner or later much more new made "ubers" as from faping can take a place ingame. how does it influent game balance.... use ur imagination.
