True, it would require "tampering" to extract them directly from memory, but your not changing anything. You could also maybe hook the text box area and just parse the text directly from it, lots can be useful doing that as well, like logging the damage of every one of your shots.

MindArk should make the text box area automaticly log to a file in real-time, then you wouldn't need too do anything of the sort, just monitor the log file to get it. I guess all depends on what mindark would allow someone too do, but I suspect they'll frown on anything that gets game data from memory... :-\

It is considered as an intrusion... Even if you're only "tampering" (as you say) without doing any modification, you're already doing something you should not.

It's like listening to a private conversation without talking yourself... You're not doing anything, true, but it's still a bad thing to do

Anyway, Overlapping PE window by using some DX tricks can perhaps be acceptable for MA but "tampering" any of their data, even if it's just to read them w/o modifying them, is certainly far off limits according to the COU, imho.
If you want to have a long life in PE, i wouldn't do that

About pages 'fitting' into the PE Assistant browser;

As a webmaster, one can display pages differently depending on the device/platform/browser that is hitting it. If PE Assistant will identify itself through the User-Agent HTTP header properly, then one can easily use a template on a site that you want to make 'PE Assistant'-friendly.

In the same way we make the same webpage display differently for a WebTV, Cellphone, PDA or even for a printer. For example; I did a website that responds differently when Pinnacle's ShowCenter hits it, as opposed to regular PC users visiting it. This site then has optimised hotspots that are specifically designed for the DVD-like control of ShowCenter.

Well, MA hasn't responded yet. This week is full of exams for me anyways so there isn't too much happening right now If MA hasn't responded to me before next monday I'll probably release some alpha version to the willing-to-be-testers

Yes I know about the Uer-Agent request field and it will probably turn out to be something like this:

Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows XP) PEASS x.x.y

where x.x is a version number and y a build type (private/public or something). First I have to figure out how to mod MSIE to send that string though (probably just as easily said as done).

Eventually With the first release? I don't know. I don't even know for sure if the first Alpha will even contain the browser as there is still some stuff I really need to prevent from happening (or y'all are going to crash to desktop from PE every few minutes ) Most likely if a favourites section gets built in, it will be either in the form of your normal MSIE bookmark or maybe just a special bookmark-folder from MSIE

That is exactly what you DON'T want to do. I can see that really lagging PE for several reasons. IE is not built to be in this kind of environment. Simple things like animated GIFs can really turn stuff up-side down if you're not careful.

i dont think IRC is necessary.
but something to be able to send msgs even with the other person offline, that is extremely necessary!

cause if u want to chat with the other person u can always PM him!

there is not a General Chat in PE (like on IRC) for everyone that wants but dont c that as a vital. offline msgs are much more important...

Offline messages can be done via e-mail... with a webbrowser your friends can keep like Gmail or something open in-game and you can send mail too them?

I can't think of any easy way to empliment offline messageing with this thing unless someone wants too donate dedicated webhosting to develop a slick webpage for it... but then everyone you'd like too message would have too register...

Probably easier too just give everyone gmail invites and then implment Jabber into it and use the Gtalk jabber servers too PM them or E-mail them if they're offline... Jabber sources are easyly available and the protocols are well documented in RFCs. Since your gmail login works with gtalk and its Jabber protocol you can easyly make a compatable client. Gotta love google with open source standards and protocols. ;-)
