I might warn y'all that the browser will probably not be in the first alpha... MSIE ActiveX is unstable like singlefile beercrate towers in earthquake season... I wouldn't want y'all CtD'ing and go blaming me for your losses

I might route the offline messaging through my own webserver, but that all depends on popularity... While I do have a reasonable amount of space and bandwidth, I'm not going to be able to serve 200k people on it who message eachother every five minutes We'll just see about all that.

Jabber support is on the to-do list though.

People interested in being a beta tester and getting your hands on the prerelease get your collective asses over to http://pe.jongma.org/ (nothing up there yet beside an empty forum), sign up and post in the beta groups. I prefer people who are not total computing noobs and dont complain when their PE crashes

cause if u want to chat with the other person u can always PM him!

there is not a General Chat in PE (like on IRC) for everyone that wants but dont c that as a vital. offline msgs are much more important...

IRC as an optional tab would be very cool though.

It would wouldn't it I've been looking into it. Though it is a simple protocol it will take a shitload of work to get one running, so who knows when and if it will actually be done

there a way with javascript to go to IRC through webpages...

Before was posible to use -w to start the game in window mode.
MA removed this posibility.

So I think they are against using such programs.

First PUBLIC BETA has been released. Includes a calculator, notepad, maps, MyTwoPecs and basic Foobar/WinAmp control support. Remember this is a BETA though. You will need to register at the site to be able to download it (this will not be so with the real public releases). As stated before, there isn't too much in it yet, because I want to resolve all major issues with the core first.
