Totally agree with you Limey....

The people who are whining are not just noob's they are players that have invested / played for a long time and have gradually noticed how bad EU is getting with each and every NERF.... the latest VU was enough for me to completely sell up all skills are gone and all my items... I literally run around with nothing now and the only reason i log back in is to chat to my firends i've made over the years.......

there was a valid point as to how to look at the game and what you want from it but your far off the mark about how the game has gone...

EU has changed for the worse simple as that.

When i started we got lovely peds in the loot and now we get oil, i mean WTF...
you could actually at the worst break even from hunting trips without much effort and gain with any globals you got ...

now you are lucky to get a 20% return... regardless of how good you are...

once upon a time there was a reason to have skills... now there is no point at all other than to come on the EF and say HEY LOOK AT ME I'VE GOT 200k TOTAL SKILSL ARNT I MINT!!!!
which is when i laugh and think my god they have lost thousands and they dont even know it......stupid muppets they cant see that MA have bled them dry ...


I dont even know why i'm posting to be honest it's like talking to an addict..... doesnt matter what i say about the problems with EU there will always be blind people addicted to it needing their fix and not being able to see the wood from the trees....

I think it's a great post. Sure, the Title doesn't give the thread justice, but with that aside He has made a few good points and he's hit the nail on the head.

Of course, each player's experience is going to vary, but the examples that were used aren't too far fetched and we all can relate to at least one whether it's just a hobby, more of a gamble, or a serious investment.

I don't see where this is an attempt to be "whining" thread or a "whining about whining" thread. Seems to be very informative and well written. Is it a way to earn EFD? Yes absolutely !! It's his opinion, many will agree and some won't. And for those that don't agree doesn't give you the right to -rep. At least state your reasoning as to why you don't agree and debate the issue. At least he put some thought into it and it wasn't another "Who's the most skilled in Guam" thread.... Just my opinion

What happens if someones idea of fun IS hunting Hoggs, solo in ghost + 5b.

what if people find the daily grind task (opalo on snables) boring for them. There was a time not that long ago where every mob gave loot and you could see gold and silver in your loot window, with the occasional item - woot !

What do you say to people who lived in those days and loved the game PE ?? Do you tell them to adapt or leave ? I think thats unfair as they were the foundations that EU is today (i know alot have profitted by being here at that time). I honestly think that EU is turning into a rich mans game. gone are the $10 deposits. The default depo ammount is $100 and I'm sure one day I'll click D and $500 will be there automatically. I don't think it has to be like this. I'm lucky I suppose, I sold up, chipped out and was able to do the mundane hunting thing again....... many dedicated hunters wouldn't be able to do that.

I think slamming 'Whiners' is easy !!

Come up with a way to make the unhappy dedicated EU players happy and you quite rightly get EFD and a +rep

I don't think the OP is whining about whiners, BUT ... that said, I have to agree with many that while the points made are a good effort, the title could have been constructed more effectively, and there's a lot to take into consideration here. EU is not the same, and with each VU we've seen changes that have precluded us from making certain decisions to become more effective or efficient in our experiences.

I'm a decent mid-level player, but I'm finding it not only much harder to advance, but also more challenging to believe that skill level has anything to do with anything ... and here's the big because ... I was led to believe that after unlocking certain skills the loot would be better, but I can attest that it hasn't. I am now hard-pressed to believe that there's any kind of path that leads you to better looting, or more globals/hofs, and more inclined to believe it's all a crap shoot, and the luck of the draw. Unless I've missed it somewhere, I have seen no proven path to achieve anything other than draining your ped card.

One thing I do agree with though ... it's important to be clear in your mind exactly what your relationship with EU is, and be resolved that unless you have what it takes to feed this machine in order to potentially achieve a profit (being smart about it of course), that you won't be realizing the kind of return that perhaps you expected when initially engaging yourself.

On another note ... it was not a wise choice to "ask" for EFD and/or +reps, as that is seen as begging, as well as perhaps a premeditated motive on your part in constructing this thread, even though you put forth good effort. It's more advantageous to let your threads and posts speak for themselves, and if they're deserving of the EFD and/or +reps, then you'll get them. Asking can obviously work in reverse as witnessed by comments in this thread and -reps you've received. I would advise to think twice before doing it again.

Wow quite a response... I feel I should comment on a few things though said by people. Keep in mind these comments while they may look as though they are only directed to the person I'm quoting... these comments are to all that apply.

Yes I have considered that things aren't as good as they used to be... but back in those days the game was still in beta. Really the awesome loots of before were most a draw in for new players. Do you think many people would have played when there was no one in game if there wasn't some kind of incentive? Either way, while the loots may not be as good as before all those pregold players still have all the skills and items they kept from those days. Even today, while they don't get as good of loots they still have the seemingly unfair advantage of having really high skill lvls that they attained when leveling was super fast way back in the day.

But either way this is life... The us dollar used to be quite strong and now... well it's gradually dropping to nothingness. But be that as it may people deal, EU is dynamic and has it's own economy and like every economy it can't be ultimately wealthy forever. There will be periods of time where the economy is low and thus leading to lower loots and markups etc... You simply need to roll with the punches.

And as for begging for EFD/+reps I'm not really begging... It's not like I made one big thread that I posted in the general section that only says something like give me EFD so I can be rich on the forum. I'm merely asking for support for advertising my site... an afterthought of my thread. Which, by chance, did anyone look at? It's a great tool for entropians and I'd like to get the word out about it... I only want to save up 30K so I can get a week long spot. I put in the comment in thanking people for +reps to simply thank people for any +reps that they give of their own free will.

Regardless, just because I make the comments about EFD and +rep doesn't mean people are gonna do it... that's no reason to -rep me. I mean how is it any different from people that post the most retarded thread simply to earn efd and rep? Like "I like EU and LOOOOOT do you?!"

well this thread is just as necessary as the "whining" threads. It's an expression of my opinion that may help some players better understand the dynamic of the game. Rather than just complaining about things and expecting MA to make it all better I'm offering some constructive information towards the subject. MA helps those that help themselves And really, about the whining threads being feedback for MA... I'm pretty sure they take it with a BIG grain of salt... Considering it's always the people that hit the big things that are saying "I love this game the loot system rocks!" and always the people that are losing peds that say "This new VU sucks". If they "adjusted" the loot pool to be better EVER time someone complains about bad loot they'd be broke lol.

Why -rep me for asking for help with my site? it's not like this thread offered nothing and requested EFD, I merely added as an after thought the request to help get the word out about my site. Doesn't mean people have to help, it's not like I spammed it in the post.

And on that note, -repping someone simply because you don't agree with them isn't how it's supposed to be. Yes I know that. And as I commented before. Both in this post and the thread start. Just because you've been playing for so long and have put in so much money doens't mean MA OWES you anything... All the players that were around way back when have been given many advantages in game already in the form of being able to take advantage of the good loots, the easy skilling, the fast hp gain...etc. EU may be getting "worse" and harder to profit in but you've got two choices learn to adapt or quit... and I suppose the secret option #3 where you just keep complaining in hopes that MA will change their whole financial structure and cut profits to let more players make money and I wish you good luck with that, cause really what company wants to stop making millions of dollars?

Well then, the reason they like it is cause it's the thrill of gambling. People know how well hoggs can loot AND how much it costs... but they should also know that sometimes the loot just isn't there. And if your argument is that they just like hunting big creatures... well then perhaps they should play a game that doesn't have a RCE? They should understand - as I'm sure many do - the risks that are involved in hunting the big things, especially when they are doing so in a less than optimal economic way. And when they are paying REAL money to hunt these virtual creatures.

If people find the daily grind of eco hunting boring... well then it's not for them, they should stick with what's fun for them. That doesn't mean what is fun for them will necessarily be profitable I'm sure there are many people that like putting their paycheck all on black at the roulette table cause it's fun... doesn't mean they'll win. If you want to play risky with your money go ahead, just don't complain about it not being fair when you lose.

Well the ONLY way I can make all the whiners happy is if I either gave them a HoF or a formula of how to hit a HoF every week. But this thread does offer a way of thinking and regarding EU that they may not have considered. And if they follow my advice... they may find that it's easier to hit a HoF... or at least limit their losses.

Well... that's sad.. the only reason I'm asking for EFD is to promote my site, it's a good cause if people would take the time to look at it. It's not like I'm purely begging ONLY and offering no other merit to the thread. As well... I'm not trying to beg for +reps I'm gonna reword that... And to everyone... This ISN'T just a post to get EFD.. if it were I wouldn't have posted it in the general section where you CAN'T earn EFD. This thread was made because I'm just getting tired with seeing the same post made 14 million times by people. Just like the sweating price threads
