To All The Whiners... This Is The REAL Way To Win BIG...

Alright I've seen a LOT of threads posted by people complaining about loots and such... And while I'll admit, I'd love to get some nice loots too... It's time I think we all got a wakeup call...

There is no magic mob that you can hunt, no magic combination of skills or gear that is gonna ensure you always walk away with an uber loot.

There is however this advice that I'll offer that will improve the enjoyment you get out of the game.

• Determine what you really want out of the game. Is this just a pass-time for you, a mere hobby where you can potentially make some money. Is this a form of gambling for you, where pump in loads of cash hoping to hit the big one, or is this a serious business venture for you where you plan on earning substantial cash consistently. Your answer to this question really determines how you should be playing. For example, if you want this to be a consistent way of making good money stop treating it like a form of gambling

(Note: Don't confuse what the hobby portion of the game is for you. If your "hobby" is gambling - stick with the gambling path and don't consider it a hobby - at least not in this game.)

Next, once you've determined which path you need to follow in Entropia, stick with it. Keep in mind you can only follow one path - so choose wisely.

If this is a mere hobby for you...
Don't go out hunting hogglo's and other uber mobs. Stick with the basics in game. Check out the entropedia charts and determine the most economic things to use in your hunting/mining/crafting. Your goal is to find things you can do a lot of with minimal cost e.g. hunting snables with an opalo, mining with probes in areas with high markup enmatter, crafting basic filters and such. While you aren't gonna global every 5 minutes you WILL get good skill gains and you will be able to have a lot more chance to actually hit something good over time. Also you'll notice that 100 ped will go a lot farther. Do your best to limit your costs and sweat/gather fruit to supliment your loots - make that ped stretch as far as it will go. And in time you may just hit something good, or you may end up with a lot of skills that you can sell for good peds (almost like getting that nice HoF). Set aside an amount - like 100 ped - and maintain it. Hunt/craft/mine and always sell what you get for market value and should you come up short, sweat/gather fruit till you are back to 100 peds. It can be a bit dull, but hey it's just a hobby that's meant to really kill time! So sweat and chat with friends. What do you have to lose? And most importantly what's your rush? Hobbies take time to develop. You don't think collectors start with everything on day one do you? You don't think people build a detailed quality model in 5 minutes do you? Take your time and enjoy building up your skills while sweating.

If your looking to hit the big one just like a form of gambling...
Again, look for the most bang for your buck. Hunt the big mobs that are known to global/HoF/ATH. If it's not on the ATH list it's not worth hunting however be sure you are limiting your costs. Did you know that the cost of killing a hogglo young with an ep-40, full ghost set with 5b's and a ek-2350 fap is about 9.57 peds a kill? While the cost of killing a hogglo young in full shadow with a ep-21 defender improved, Omegaton Fast Aid Pack Improved FAP is about 5.38 peds a kill? That's almost like being able to kill twice as many hogglos for the same cost... Twice the amount of hogglos you can kill = more chances to loot a BIG one. Although expect to invest some good money for this uber gear, but in time it will be worth it. But know that it is still a gamble... you are merely limiting your cost per chance to hit something big. If you play this way there is no guarantee you will strike it rich and as with all forms of gambling... you can't complain just cause you don't win, would you complain at a casino should the dealer get blackjack when you have 20? Expect to have to deposit, sometimes lots! You don't go to a casino with 13 cents and expect to walk about with a stack of bills, why should this be any different? Some times you're flush and sometimes you are bust. And when you are going for the big stuff expect to lose big... then you won't be disappointed when it happens and you'll be crapping your pants when you hit that 36,000 pedder!

If this is a serious business venture for you...
Then don't even really do the usual things. Simply invest your money and don't gamble with it. Buy a land area and/or become a trader. They even say in their propaganda videos that "trading can be the most profitable profession on calypso..."...etc. Actually invest your money in the things that have continually shown to make profit. Case in point, CND. Guy invests $100,000 once and now he's making what... like $100,000 a year from it? That's like hitting a 19,000 pedder EVERY WEEK!! When you invest big into the development of the game you win - always. MA is more concerned about the people that pump in $100,000+ to further the game rather than the people that put in like $100 a month... People that gamble $100+ a month are a dime a dozen, there will ALWAYS be another gambler that will take your place. So don't think MA owes you a HUGE debt because you put in $100. Sorry but it's true.

And that pretty much sums it up... When you figure out how you wanna play and take action you'll be a lot happier. But just because you have the skills, you've bought the uber gear, you lose $300+ a month, you've been playing for years, you're a cool guy, you deserve a big one....what EVER your reason... you can't honestly expect that you'll hit an ATH or some massive loot JUST because.

Play smart, not hard.

From all of the posts about approaches towards Entropia I have read, this one was the best upfront description of how to relate to Entropia Universe.

However you could also have all or some of these approaches at the same time.

Eventually I think you will adapt to anything, obviously even the most enthusiastic player will get bored at times, and even the most prosperous investor/trader will go for other markets, and even the most Elite player will eventually be just one of the elites, which takes out the fun. And when it comes down to fun or not. Thats the important question - always.

Been there, done that. Its a universal law.

Its a good opinion that youve pointed out here.

But have you ever considered that there is a possibility things are not as good like it should/was?

all the threads you call (whining) is also feedback from players to MA.
I don,t think any thread is whining its maybe not so tactical to do it that way but what else can peopel do besides that?


I know why i play i like the game, and defenitly not in to win, i don,t smoke, do drugs or anything and i don,t mind to deposit.

And (begging) for ef money hey like i said everybody has his own opinion.
But asking for it well its not my game to do it that way.
I rather get it unexpected.

This is what I consider to be a whining about whiners thread, which would make me now a whiner about whiner-whiners , your wasting your time creating a thread to whine about other peoples opinions and to me thats not what a forum should be about, IN MY OPINION your thread is so unnecessary. A forum is a place to share opinions and discuss topics not whine about opinions. Your so called "wakeup call" thread is just a means of collecting a few easy +reps and EFDs:

And I think you really got the whining part wrong. In the end you will see that most will vote hobby. It's we the midlvl player who "whine" since we get less and less fun from our gameplay.

I have done exactly what you say, went out and knifed snables with my TT knife. I don't care about uber HOFs etc, I just wan't some hours of fun. And when I see that the same mob, same place, same weapon just is a waste of money compared with how it was earlier in my ingame life I whine about less return of fun for my "investement". I have on one hunt since VU9 gained from my hunts, all the rests has just been a huge loss. And don't say that I should change place and gear, I'm not the new noob here, I know what to use and I have changed locations and gear several times the last month.

People who see this as an investment are IMO stupid, except of those who do a real investment with K's of PED. $10/month is not an investment.

Very good post, one of the better about how PE works that I ever read.

For me, I play all 3 paths, with the investment part to cover for the gambling path .
