Is EU Dying?

Hello to you all

Let me start by saying that i am not one of those people who moan about everything just because i have lossed a bit of money in the game. This question is a serious concern of mine.

I have been playing EU or when i started PE on and off for about 3 years and have invested many hours and a lot of money into the game so i am no noob when it comes to the game.

After a long time away i recently started playing again and have noticed a real decline in the player base. For example when i started playing, Port Atlantis was full of people all the time you could hardly move. Now it seems it mostly has about 20 people in it which was unheard of when i used to play.

But i think the most telling thing in the game is the auction. Once again when i used to play the auction was packed full of stuff. There used to be 10+ pages of rifles alone, and now there is hardly any stuff on there anymore. these things and others says to me that the player base over the past 18 months has really declined.

Do you guys and girls think this is the case to or is it just me...

Naw, PE is not dying. That the auction do not have 10pages of opalos/jesters(as it were before) is more of a sign that the "traders" have become smarter.

And not as many spammers in PA, well... perhaps you are there at the wrong hour? It can also be because of better rates by the resellers, resulting in less need of all other entropians spamming out their trade ad each 10s.

I don't think the player base has declined.

Less people in PA: There is added a new outpost "Swamp Camp" which is perfect for the newbies to go to. I suggest you go check it out.

Less selling in auction: Maybe this has something to do with the 3 added shoppingmalls. The big crafters now all own a mall shop for selling their goods instead of the auction.

Would be nice if PEAuction had a graph of total daily or monthly turnover, to give an indication of this. Especially for recources and (L) items.

The low number of UL items in auction doesnt say much, only that they dont drop much and people stick to them.

Yeah like ppl saying. Auction, many shops + 3 shopping mall, cnd etc..
Thats why ppl dont stand in port atlantis and sell stuff also those shops making that auction dont have that much stuff. Also auction fee is raised.
And for noobs. They are now in swamp camp, nea and many others place.
And ppl is noticed that twin is better place to sell better stuff. Normal in atlantis is place to sell low end stuff.

I'm kind of thinking that there is less players also because you always see the same people, and in a single game world game that should be tough to do since its nearly unheard of on divided server games.

The sweat camp is usually always brimming with players though but again its the same players that you always see when you go there with very few new names popping up and staying for the long haul.

It's really tough to get an accurate gauge on it.

Think of it this way. If EU died MA would lose a lot of money. So if things are going bad they would most likely make some changes to the game that will bring more new players.
