"I refuse to quit"

I like the thread topic actually. Lots of good advice, and I would +rep the guy that donated 25 ped to get you off the rock if I knew who it was.

You 'owe' it to him to survive Entropia now and not quit - I'd wager you've got what it takes - so good luck!

Yes +rep to the guy who donated ped for you to get back down.

As of now.. sweat yer butt off with a group. Dont give up!

Patience is truly key about EU. Oh and like Skippie said.. rejoin the soc when you can.. simply having people around to talk to is a good thing. Besides, EVERYONE pisses and moans about loot sometime or another .

Sweat hunting is even better, or what my soc likes to call. "Swunting", doing this will actually bump your chances of breaking even or profiting even more.
That's quite a topic im not 100% certain since AMP's increase the DMG/PEC ratio of the weapon. But yeah sure the amp repair bill hurts.

Amps

The way i see it is, why use the amp when u can have that 18 ped and use it for more ammo, and when a snable can be killed in around 5 shots, does one need the amp? Not to get off topic, but to add more info to the eco part of saving money.

edit:

i suggested not getting the amp for the reason that it would be too expensive to use right off the get go to get back on your feet. when you have substantial ped to recover from lack of return to refill the amp, repair the gun, and buy ammo, then i would suggest using an amp. This is my personal experience, and it worked for me. But later on amps are more eco when they are backed by a wallet of ped.

This is the BEST advice for you: patience! Many times I said to myself that I will go eco, but EVERY time I stopped after max 1k sweat and deposit. Of course, it's not a big problem for me to deposit some money from time to time, and now I'm thinking maybe that's why I keep doing the wrong thing .

Also, gratz to ALL that contributed to this tread; usually this kind will go:
... you suck...
... you stink...
... you're too stupid... etc.
It's nice too see that even in a virtual world there are always ppl that you can trust and have good intentions.

If you want to survive with a small bankroll you need to make sure you're not subjecting yourself to too much variance. If you are, the bad runs will wipe you out. Your plan with Opalo and sweat is much more viable - you'll be killing smaller mobs and so will be able to kill a lot more for your PED (and hence have a better chance of evening out the luck in the long term), and the sweating will help build a bit of balance and mitigate the bad runs. Good luck!

BTW, if you have $20 to spare I recommend investing it in "Fooled by Randomness" by Nassim Nicholas Taleb (published by Penguin). I'm reading it at the moment - whilst much of it is obvious and should be common sense, its all stuff we either don't know or forget from time to time, and explains how our emotions and way of thinking lead us to misinterpret what are actually results of randomness as things that have happened for a reason.

I recommend it to everyone here in fact
The best advice i ever read anywhere in this forum! (i can't rep you again today, sorry)

I have a soc m8 in the same situation than Sakura. He has always only around 100 peds in his ped card and still he manages to make the disastrous decision of going to CND even with the best advices of other soc m8s against it. He is constantly moaning he does not have peds, but ultimately, it's his own fault. Don't go to CND if you are not going to make some serious mining.. and when i say serious, i mean runs of over 2000 peds. Like jimmy said, with less than that, a bad day will wipe you out.
This also applies to hunting, depending of the weapon and mob of choice... and time...
A fat wallet will allow you to survive... a couple hundred peds will not guarantee you anything unless you find a way to stretch the playtime, minimizing the risk.
That's why crafting is so risky.. you spend loads of cash in a few minutes. And if you are in a bad day, game over...

You will do more damage for less using the A101. Learn of what you speak

I speak about my ped card, not dps, or how much more i will get using that amp.
10/10 times hunting i get more money from not using amps eco hunting exa and snable. Go try it out, see for your self.

edit:

I did not intend to sound cocky, or sound like a know it all, i apoligiese if i sounded like that, but i stated that to test out why not having a amp worked for me, and brought more ped to my ped card after the hunt was over.

Hi

I am sorry for you, so many people are or have been in exactly the same situation, i myself in almost 3 years of playing the game have spent around 12k dollars, i dont really have anything to show for it, i left for 6 months because i had better things to do in my life, but that was at first, i have found over time i could not leave the game even if i was totally broke, because i have found so many good and lovely friends right there. I have been silly though i decide to go spend on clothes instead of investing on weapons etc, so after all the time i have played my wardrobe may look good but my weapons are only just mediocre.
Sometimes i get angry when i see people who have big guns etc showing off when their skills are really low, i think if its their money fair enough do as they wish of course, but when you see people running around showing off in pvp rings etc just because they have a big weapon it means nothing and i wouldnt waste my ammo, ped or time on them. There are alot of respectful players in the game who have worked really hard to get where they are, im sure your time in EU should not end, be with your friends, hang out, take a break but dont leave
