I refuse to quit

Yesterday I found myself down to about 5 ped and knew I had 2 choices if I wanted to keep playing,

Grind my butt off or Desposit.

I made an agreement with a family member that holds a credit card that I would pay him 15 dollars a month and he would put 15 dollars onto my PED card.

By yesterday evening I had 140 ped on my card.

Now what to do with it... This is where I admit I royally screwed up.

I decided to bypass trading and goto CND with about 80 bombs and semi expensive mining gear.

At first I came close to breaking even then actually made a small profit, then I got greedy and kept going,

Within 20 minutes I managed to run myself into the ground asset and PED wise.

I right now have under 10 PED and am Stuck on CND...

I noticed I started to moan a lot in my society chat.

I didn't say anything disrespectful but more like woes me, my life stinks, im poor, I should just quit now and save myself the misery, how I spent over 350
USD on the game so far and have nothing...

I actually removed myself from the soc because I was at the point that I was really upset and depressed and not really sure how I was going ot handle it, I thought it would be better off if I didn't take it out on them.

I ended up logging off shortly after I left the soc, and going to bed.

I woke up this morning feeling a bit better. I went to gaming website to look for a new game to play.

While im trying to figure out how to download Korean free to play Lineage 2 knock off from a German website I stopped myself and said WTF am I doing?


I decided im not going to just quit when it gets to tough. I still have about 8 ped to work with and I need to come up with a sensible coarse of action.

Yes, I am stuck in CND but that doesn't mean I can't make money.

I can buy a Opalo and some ammo, go to the lvl 2 area witht he noobie Mobs and Sweat them dry and kill them.

I am setting myself a GOAL right now. The first time I set a Goal was a bit unrealistic, I wanted to turn 1000 Ped into a Land Deed....

My Goal now is a bit more humble. I am going to sweat until I have 10,000 Sweat saved up. Then I am going to Re-access my situation (should I leave CND or keep sweating, trade etc)

Umm ..... sounds like you should maybe consider doing something else with your computer, I honestly think that having read this post, with out an ounce of meanness or irony in what I say, this game will only get you down.

This can be a very expensive universe but it is truly one worth spending time to enjoy...

yes sweat ...yes skill with your opalo...you dont need to leave cnd to sweat but my honest opinion for you is sweat up the price of a ticket down and head for Nea's LA on amethera.... join the group of sweater there and sweat away as much as you can no killing.......

then when you have enough for a small hunt go fo the exa and skill up on those...

They dont loot amazingly but will more often than not give you enough return using the opalo to keep you hunting... if you run out of ammo then go back and sweat some more...

concentration skill is quite valuable as are the evade skills you will earn while you are sweating....

there are plenty of nice people there to heal you can give you focus and help you with any questions.

lol, you went to CND and wonder why you lost money?!

first, ~20 ped to get there, just to give loot away freely (not to mention you gotta get down again)

thats around 13% of your deposit you spend just go somewhere

second, there is is tax everwhere, hence you will actually give parts of your loot away freely

you spend 13% of your deposit just go be able to pay tax ^.-

the mining up on CND is a bit harder as well

ofc you can hit big, but you can lose even more even faster than down on the planet


but complaining that you lost cash although you freely give your loot away is kinda funny tbh
and you even pay 20 ped for this opportunity!

yea dude, no disrespect intended but this game will prob only bring u down more UNLESS u stick wif nooby mobs wif opallo. can get boring imo but to each their own. i hope u work it out and make a wise decision mate

You will need to change your outlook on this game.

Equip a S30 (L) which is only one ammo per shot and go to Orthos west I think it is , and sweat snabbles till they are dry , then kill them with your S30(L).

DO NOT SPEND PEDS ON ANYTHING but ammo and another S30(L) if you need one , but most likely you will get plenty in drops.

After you have aquired 50k sweat this way , you will have a new outlook on the game.

The hard part is keeping yourself from quitting on this simple task. Once you have completed it , come back to this thread and I will give you the next step.

Get down from CND pronto! You really need to reassess. From my point of view you deposit more than me and appear to have way less. I`m guessing you have`nt played as long as I have maybe. And likely you are getting uneconomical somewhere or hunting etc a bit beyond your skills. Take a good look at where your ped is going. No reason you can`t be succeeding on a budget like that small or not. It`s just not going to be full of high falootin alien blasting cnd carpet bombing fun. Seriously take a good look then go back and just concentrate on your stronger activities, mobs etc. Doing stuff like hoping for the lucky drop in space is a sure way to end up with no ped. Everytime I try something similar I fail. But I just don`t try it until I am sure I can afford to lose the ped. Good luck!

The issue here is not profit and loss. It is bankroll.

You cannot go mining on CND with 150 PED to your name. You may win a bit at first, as you did, but sooner or later a bad run will come and wipe you out. (Your error wasn't continuing to mine after you started well - your error was mining there at all. You just got lucky at first)

If you want to survive with a small bankroll you need to make sure you're not subjecting yourself to too much variance. If you are, the bad runs will wipe you out. Your plan with Opalo and sweat is much more viable - you'll be killing smaller mobs and so will be able to kill a lot more for your PED (and hence have a better chance of evening out the luck in the long term), and the sweating will help build a bit of balance and mitigate the bad runs. Good luck!

BTW, if you have $20 to spare I recommend investing it in "Fooled by Randomness" by Nassim Nicholas Taleb (published by Penguin). I'm reading it at the moment - whilst much of it is obvious and should be common sense, its all stuff we either don't know or forget from time to time, and explains how our emotions and way of thinking lead us to misinterpret what are actually results of randomness as things that have happened for a reason.

I don't deposit and it sounds like I have more than you in inventory and ped card. Gotta play eco like thorn said. Focus on hunting or mining. Hunting tips you got already. If mining do research. Look for noob gear until you have skills for higher gear. Find an area that has deposits of a type that your skills can reliably find with a nice % markup. I stick to enmatter mining because one of the easiest things to find is nexus with a 140%+ markup. GL
