Yes rep does matter a lot in this game my advice is to ignore these people and do what you think is right.

I tend to notice that many players have some sort of preconceived notion of another player based on their friend's opinion rather than actually judging the player for themselves.

Those who don't do this will be you best friend.

I don't know what happened in Twin as I wasn't there. I was however in PA ....

I'm coming from the service center heading to the TP to buy some materials, reading the chat/spam/trade as I go, when I see a "I offer free coloring. I pay collateral. Tips welcome" type message from somebody unknown to me as colorer.

I stop and look round for the colorer, who then repeats a similar message and this time gives their location. I scan the colorer who is standing about in their noob underwear, and was totally unsurprised to see that they were level 0 in the Colorer profession.

I carry on to the TP, park myself in my favorite spot, and then ask in all chat "What colors can you use Angelica?". No response at first, but then she appears in front of me after a minute or so and says she can color orange, yellow, blue and green.

My response was something similar to "Green? And here was me thinking that a level 0 colorer cannot use green paint properly."

I then get a "my profession is zero, yes, but I have 9 skill points, and green unlocks at 8" reply which is either a total bs fob-off meant for the unknowing, or the words of somebody who doesn't understand what they are talking about.

I proceed to explain that a level 0 colorer cannot use green efficiently because they need to be at pro standing level 8 before they can start to use it properly.

She says she can use green paint.

I try to explain that you can put any paint in the colorator, but unless you have at least the skill required to gain the SIB, you cannot use it properly because the pro standing does matter.

I'm told I'm wrong!

I repeat that a level 0 colorer CANNOT use green properly, and if you cannot use it properly you will get very little success.

Although confrontational, Sakura Darkfire (Angelica) wasn't being rude, and she seemed to genuinely believe in what she was saying, but was blinkered against all reasoning in the process. I therefore gave up trying to explain at this point, and decided to just keep an eye on things.

At no point did I see anyone calling you a scammer. I know I certainly didn't because I'm not stupid enough to say "So and So is a scammer" in public, even if they are (and at no time did I say Sakura Darkfire was). As I'm sure the lady you are referring to is me, I'm calling on that statement.

To lose something you must first have it. After basically repeating myself yet again I left you to get on with it, and kept watch on things for the few minutes you were still about. You then disappear presumably to make your post here, which coincided perfectly time wise with one of my friends arriving at PA and the times on the chat log messages for the conversation I had with her, rather than due to lost customers.

I'm close to level 16 Colorer, and on the left is my success chance for using 1116 cans of Violet Cream (that's 89.28 PED tt of paint). On the right is my success chance with 314 cans of Pink, which at over 7 and under 8 levels away from gaining the SIB is basically the same as the thread starter, a level 0 Colorer, attempting to use Green.

Anyone who colors or uses the new textures will know that a success bar like those above results in a warning that you cannot use it efficiently, and your results for proceeding will be somewhere between zero and extremely poor even with large quantities.

What you choose to believe is up to you, but that's the bigger picture and my version of events.

I don't know whether he frequents EF but there was another colorer, Kristofer somebody, a big guy in yellow and orange clothing and if I remember correctly in the society The Prophecy, who was about at the time this was occurring, so maybe he can add something.

And if anyone thinks I've somehow been the bad element in all this, I really don't care. As I was already there and planned on being so for some time, I refused to allow something so blatantly suspicious to go unchallenged, especially as it was in PA. I have a conscience, and it's currently clear. Is yours?

If you don't have the skill to do it then you cant offer a service in that field,no matter if your intentions are honest and genuine can you?

You were quite kind in summing up what happened, and fair to this person.

Firstly, it's good we have people asking questions with-in game, too many people get scammed as it is.

Secondly, I am not saying this person was attempting to scam anyone, maybe just a bit mis-informed as to her actual capabilities (maybe?)

We were all new once, one set of Pixie and I thought I got take the rig ffs

I think you are mistaking skill points for skill lvls to start with.At your level the chances are as mandy pointed out very low to successfully colour anything higher than orange.I have experimented with green and can post examples of results with higher levels than yourself. You can increase this by using more paint but this has a limit.Secondly colouring has saturation aspect so even a success can look very dull. A skilled colourer will therefor use less paint , have a higher success and better result.For this they charge a fee. While you dont charge but offer none of these benefits how is this better than doing my own coloring? Maybe its i pay for you to skill? By the way this is a expensive area to skill and i recommend you try something else.
