Hi there !!
this became a pretty loooooong Thread til now and I am sure it will become much longer and longer and longer in future, since this economy Problem is a Mega Uber big one.In past..... pretty long time ago I posted a Thread about how Economy works (my named Homepage inside this linked Thread did not exist anymore, but I soon will make a new one about my Shop @ Genesis HQ) and now sucha many years later I see still same problems. I am sure it will be a Ever Problem of EU as long as MA did not change some relevant things inside economy and market. I myself had a Shop @ CND loooong time ago, a really nice one special in Flowers and Plants...... That time in past it became a problem that not many people were willing to be arround at CND neither willing to visit the Shopping Mall up there, lower item drops and auction manipulations in Pricing were main problems for most of fair working Shopowners. That time some years ago as I owned the shop up there, I recognized lotsa other shops wich weren`t stocked up regularely, were closed due to missing maintenance fee or probably closed. Til now nearly nothing changed in this. Still empty Shops, missing Maintenance fees or probably some overpriced ones too for sure. As a fazit of this problems up there I decided to close my shop to lower losses. Now lotsa times later I have a Shop again @ Genesis HQ (Genesis StarTowerB BlockC Shop #05) doing in selfcrafted Textures, Art and Housing things. but Problems from past times seems to be present not only in my shop too. One of the biggest Mistakes MA ever did in my view, is the too low droprate in Decoration Items like Plants, Tables and such......(seems to definately totally stopped with Droppings) also the much to much empty Apartments and Houses all arround. But its an easy thing to define why all the Apartments and Houses maybe Shops too are mostly empty: Who is willing to pay thousands of Peds for Decoration only to have a nice looking Apartment ?? As long as Prices on Decorations and Plants will not be lowered (or more Lootdrops like it used to be in past) that long I am sure we will have a Stagnation in Apartment, House and Shop-Sales. Another Problem wich is conform and same with the Decoration Problem is the too LOW Droprate on materials needed for Texture crafting for example. There we have same...... Crafted Furnitures look much more stylish with great Textures applied on and some colouring maybe....... but the lack of Materials in Texture Crafting or Paints are the reason why this crafted furnitures also will have Big prices because of Texture Costs and such. Since I myself craft Textures mainly I see another big problem with Textures: If you craft Textures and you need to pay tonns of peds for overpriced materials you normally should ask higher Prices on the finished Textures to be even or to have only a little small profit. NORMALLY!! But you cannot do this Normally because Auction gets manipulated and finished Textures mostly are available for a minimum % while regularely costs on crafting them are much higher % then the Textures were sold in auction. And thats not only a thing of Skills to make this clear, the same problem you have on Textures you craft with 100 QR and maxed % in Succesrate too. So in final there we have a DevilsCircle in Things of Economy and I am sure this never will stop neither now nor ever in future as long as things did not become regulated ![]() I am sure lotsa other crafters have nearly same problems with MA´s way of Economy. With too low material Drops, overpriced Materials as a resume of the low Droppingrates and with auction manipulation. And Im also sure some might share my view about the Skill Thing and relation to Final Products prices. Its allways easy to tell it a problem of skills but in fact same problems are arround with 100 QR Bps and maxed % of Successrates. so a fair working Virtual Cash Economy is not possible as long as such problems are arround and will not be regulated. A good idea of regulation would be a higher Droprate in Materials and Decorations for example. I am sure much more people would like to buy an Apartment or a House or do in Shops if it would be able to get lower priced Decorations for their needs. Also I vote for a Higher Number of ItemCounts inside estates. Why ? Because I am sure it would be a great idea to make it possible to use Textures as Wallpapers or Ceilling Decoration without use of DisplayPannels. Only by dropping them at the wall or Ceilling ^^ wich for sure will make Need for higher Number of ItemCounts or MA should generate some Wallpaper BPs wich make it possible to craft Wallpapers :PFeel free to discuss here ^^ @ MA : Maybe you should think about my Wallpaper or Ceilling Decoration Idea Im sure it would be fun ^^(Supportcase about this idea allready sent) Cheers Sonne Last edited by Sonne; 04-28-2008 at 09:06. |

I think that still the majority of people here are coming for the basic professions: mining and hunting.
And since most of them are struggling to keep afloat (PED-wise) and apartments have no other use than showoff (except on CND where they're usefull as storage space) i don't wonder why the demand is low. Most normal people simply don't see the point to cough up some 100$ on a feature without benefit, especially when they notice that the time and money spend by some to decorate such an apartment nicely is nerfed into oblivion without reason from time to time (eg. by changing the textures from nice to want-to-vomit). In PE i liked shooting mobs and dropping mines ... cycling the PED (shoot, loot, buy ammo, repeat) till all was spend on decay.That was fun. In EU way to many PED are lost on the first run or taxed away on armor change ... which is discouraging to put in any more. Because this is no longer funny. |

Actually, I'd say that most likely 80% of those who will stay on EU long term will end up giving in and buy said items. It's all about temptation and the desire to look good and impress. Not to mention, separates you from your former "noob" self and tells the world that you have money to spend and don't have to always wear your OJs.

Sonne makes some very good points.
It would make alot of sense for MA to loot alot more decoration items. Items that people don't tt means $$$$ tied up in EU that MA can then spend on further development. Most people would be happy to deposit more so long as the peds they deposited are invested in items. The real key is to have a massive variety of items, I often tt tables looted from Esto's or stink tree paintings from Aurli's because once you have looted 10 of them you don't knowwhat to do with more of them lol |
