Cool

I think I'm closing in on that 1k usd mark on depositing to this game ..
However I really love this game and I enjoy every minute of it so I dont mind putting money on it .. The only problem I see is I am beginning to spend a bit more on ammo n repairs .. but hunting big mobs is so exciting, especially when I barely killem .. However I also noticed that my skill gain is not going up as fast as I want it too .. but It's going up never the less .. and It's like self deposit, u can actually withdraw n sell it to other players for a very high mark-up .. I don't think u can do that with gambling .. and It is an addiction .. but u can seek the rewards later knowing there will be a guaranteed Jackpot after years of hard ( if u can call it that ) work playing this game .. not sure if gambling can give you that promise .. anyways have fun n happy hunting ..

why do people spend tens of thousands of dollars fixing up old cars? why do people spend thousands of dollars on fishing/hunting equipment? why do people have hobbies that cost money?

I would add that it generally doesn't happen all at once.

$50 here, $60 there. Do that a couple times a week and in a few months you can realize that you've made an astonishing amount of deposits.

Here's the kicker:

Your attitude about a given behavior is usually formed by your actions. (People think that their attitude determines their behavior, but this is most often not the case.)

This can result in "Holy Shit, I've spent two thousand dollars on a game, not cool!" quickly turning into "Hey, it's perfectly acceptable to spend thousands of dollars on a game."

I think this comment is very true indeed. There are always people out there earning more than you, that's a fact of life for everyone except Bill Gates.

I work full time in a high level job so can afford to deposit whatever is needed for my entertainment. I meet others who have alot more time to spend in EU than I do, but therefore spend less time working and hence have less to depo.

The beauty of EU is that everyone can play at their own level.

I think another point that is certainly on my mind when I deposit and suspect is the case for others is a belief that Entropia will grow alot over the next few years. From that belief I believe there will be great opportunities for those who have the skills and equipment to make profit.

Good luck on your journey and gratz on the large Diakiba.

I have to give my two pecs on this topic. There is nothing illegal nor wrong with depositing, chipping in, having fun etc. I personally know people that put in everything from 1k a month to zero a month. I think the point is to have fun, part of that is living with in your means. I have no problem depositing, all though i have a 30.00 usd a month budget set. I have fun, I don't complain or whine, and I am skilling well. My only advice would be to play for 6 months before making any deposit, not only will you get skills for free, you will know if you can make the cut or not to be a long term player and get rewards from your investment, whether it be having fun or getting a return. What I dont understand is someone with no skills buying a h400 in the first days, this is what seasoned players are for, to help with advice. I know some just dont listen though. Basically I look at it as minimizing losses while having fun with some good friends.

Yahoo and Google had no name 20 years ago. PE was no name 4 years ago. EU is a name now.
There is no better concept on the market. The mathematical model behind it is a work of art. You can make money in it. Is ok to lose 10k$/month if those are planed loses. But if you lose them and got nothing... that has not to much to do with EU.
IMO is almost impossible for anyone to lose over 2k$/month every month for a long time not mater how much it plays. At some point he gets skills that will lower the losses and eventually he learn not to make stupid things.

Note, that in order to lose 20k ped in hunting each month you need a high damage/sec item, and those items tend to become efficient when you have lots of skills.

I don't deposit in this game at all. Atleast for now. I am just sweating, learning how the game works, making new friends, and getting some basic skills like Evade and all. One day I will sell all the sweat I have, my target is 100k, and then start mining and hunt here and there. If I get lucky, I will continue and If I don't then back to sweating.
