I don't think it has anything to do with that. Living in EU (ehm..Euroland, not the game) you have to pay taxes of winnings from poker sites outside ehm..Euroland. (and Poker is classed as gambling). If the poker site is based within EU, you don't have to pay tax from winnings, because the site has already been taxed then. Us Euroland citizens can hope that the same applies to EU (the game) since it is based in EU (Euroland).

not in france, incomes from gambling activities, (poker, loto, casinos ...) are not taxables

Bah, just don't declare it... no way they will know about it unless u tell them. And they will not look your bank accounts, so, u're safe (at least it is not allowed in my country).

All major transactions, like for instance 10k USD and up i believe it is in the US, get flaged and automatically reported to the instance controlling taxes... the IRS in this case. Same thing for all other countries, except places like the Caymans (which is why loaded people have accounts there). And im pretty sure its like that for you as well in Portugal, or you would be just like the Caymans and thered be loads of anonymous bank accounts. So not declaring larger sums will get you toast, fried and brunt.

Moving there is one thing... becoming a citizen is another thing entirely. And good luck with that! Of course, while you are there, your home country would still expect you to pay income taxes. When I was stationed in Germany, my wife was working at a German business. We were required to declare her income from the German business to the US IRS at tax time!! While those countries would love for you to go there to spend your money as a tourist, I am pretty sure they all expect you to leave eventually. In fact, I believe most, if not all, of those countries refuse entry unless you can produce a return flight ticket to show that you are leaving.
