About a year ago, I made by far the biggest mistake I have ever made in EU.
I bought an apartment for 250ped, all the furniture to make it look really nice for another 400ped, and wanted to start flipping apartments in EU (was PE back then ). By the time I was ready to put it up for auction the clock was already well past midnight and I was quite tired. I couldn't decide how to list it. BO or no BO. Starting bid low or high. So many questions and I was litterally falling asleep at the keyboard. I made a couple of last second changes to the price and quickly pressed submit and yes. To my dismay an Auction Icon quickly appeared.

"Your Estate has been sold for 1 ped and the balance has been added to your ped card." (Something like that)

In my hurry I had accidentally put the BO at 1 ped and had forgotten to look.

To say the least I was very and I'd probably be if i repeated anything I said that night as I .

Well after that night I didn't play for a good long while. About 6 months later I decided to come back and try to forget about that night.

Flash forward to today...

My brother and I were waiting at Twin for a pilot to take us up to CND.
Were just about to head out to the hanger when a person asked to open up a private chat with me. He explained that he recognized my name from an apartment he had purchased from the auction for 1 ped a year ago. At first I was really glad to see that he took the first step to find me. We got to talking and he said that he had recently sold my apartment for a sweet ~550ped and asked what I thought about it. I asked him if I could maybe get at least part of the money he made from the sale of the apartment. I said that I would walk away forever greatful if he gave me the value of the apartment last year plus the TT value of the stuff that was inside it and he could walk away with the inflation and market value of my stuff.

To my surprise he said he was going to keep all the ped and he was just curious to see if I was the person he had snagged the apartment away from all that time ago.

He claimed that it was my desision to put it into auction at that price and that it was no different then me placing the deed on the ground.

Well this whole was getting me really hot under the collar.
So I simply said...

"Well I'm glad you at least let me know who you are and I won't hold it against you in the future."

...and headed off for CND.

I want to know what you guys would have done in this situation. Both from his perspective and mine. I guess this is my way of letting off some steam. Your thoughts and insights will be greatly appreciated.

but the auction was final... i have not done anything nearly as bad (only lost about a hundred ped). not much to do

that reseller didnt have to be such an @$$. if he wasnt gonna help you out, shoulda kept his ugly mouth shut.

Maybe post on my thread "stupidest things you have done in EU" as 99% of all of them are auction mistakes (xsquallx, kygon) , trade mistakes (bogette), or TT stuff ups (casay, myself) (i'm still waiting for people like szechehecehcechioioioio to post there )

as with the case of xsquallx and kygon, the people involved in the auction stuffups were honest enough .... and then some people are just moenygrubbing slime. Btu that's EU reflecting RL

I agree here. Shoving it in your face again was just plain rude. The minimum honorable thing to do would have been to offer to split the difference, he still would have made near 250 peds off the deal. (Actually probably more if he pulled all of the items out and kept/sold them separate.)

Yay for happy endings! It was your mistake yes, but why on earth did the guy even say anything unless it was only to make you feel bad all that time later, not like he was offering to do anything about what was clearly a mistake on your part, so he was just rubbing salt in the wound.

Hey xpoptartx,

given the situation as it is described it was wrong of the reseller to talk to you and then just walk away.
Of course it was your mistake to create the auction like that,
but to talk to you only with the intent to hurt you is clearly rude.
Kudos to you to keep your cool like that.
