Sorry, I don't care how Sweden want to suck profit off the internet - I'm not Swedish, so they can go suck something for their profits.

If they want me to send invoices, they'll have to pay me for:

1. Paper
2. Ink
3. Mailing Supplies.
4. Postage.
5. My time.

And if they expect me to collect their taxes, they will have to pay me for:

1. Record-keeping
2. International Transactions
3. My time.

I estimate my costs to be:

Paper, Ink, Mailing Supplies and Postage: $270/mo
Record-Keeping (secure server): $525/mo
My Time: $54/hr * 40 hours weekly * 52 weeks = $112,320/yr

Total Cost: $121,860 annually, or I simply will NOT do it.

If this becomes a major issue, I would advise MindArk to ship EU servers to the US where our government is at least smart enough to know that taxing online virtual items is a non-virtual impossibility (can't say much else about the "wisdom" of the US government though - at least not as of late...).

The swedish government wont start to tax all players around the world since they cant track the transactions. They will most like start to tax swedish players making withdrawals from EU.

They will try to argue for it for a while and then realise that it is imposible to tax all transactions ingame and then be satisfied with taxing withdrawals made to swedish bank accounts or any other way of withdrawal to swedish players.

No worries, they'll just get MindArk to deduct it automatically during every trade.

Some info from MA would be interesting, to see what their p.o.v is about this.

if there was to be enforcement it would be done within Entropia, they have no power to force anything outside Sweden. As a US citizen you (probably) would be charged anyway, but it might effect how you have to price items.

MA's point of view is to ignore it as theres no (current) mechanics to back it up.

Jan Welter Timkrans, CEO of MindArk and the man behind Entropia Universe, doesn't think Skatteverkets standpoint is going to make any difference.

- Skatteverket states that gamers should send invoices to each other. It's unreasonable stuff they're talking about. The users don't know who they're interacting with.
And for now the Skatteverket seems to agree, though there may come a time when they ask MA to put somthing in place.
