Suppose I want to plce an order for a stackable item, I look on the page and there's only one order there for 1000 units at 130%. If I put in an order for 1200 units at 129.99%, does that mean that any entry of 1200 or fewer with buyout below 130% will now fill my order instead of his, even though he placed his order first? Is it common practice for people to "undercut" each other like this?

In that case all offers with a buyout of 129.99% and an amount of 1001-1200 pcs will go to your buyorder.
All offers with a buyout of maximum 130% and an amount below 1001 items will go to the other buyorder, as this offered the better price. |

Ditto to GONI's answer. When I have items to sell I check the orders first. I look to see what is the highest order percent for what I am selling. If that amount is accepable to my then I put my items on auction at the highest price, I never sell it for the lower order listings.
For me this is a good way to make a quick, guaranteed auction sale. |

Remove items from the stack you're putting on auction, bit by bit. If you are asking 50 peds for 100 items, remove the stack, and try 99 items, instead... your asking percentage just went up a bit. Keep doing that until you're just below the percentage offered for the order. That'll let you maximize your profit from the sale. |

I realize that people trying to fill an order will try to get the highest %, but usually it is impossible (and insignificant) to make an offer exactly 0.01% higher. So if my order was for 1 less item, at 0.01% less markup, would I get priority on anything 129.99% and lower? |

From what I had understood, the orders also rotate as they are filled. Lets say person A puts an order up for 1000 units of X on day one. Person B puts an order up for 500 units of X on day 2. Both orders are for 120%. Seller C places an auction for 100 units of X at 120%. That order will go to Person A. Seller D puts up an auction for 200 units of X at 120% later in the day (second auction for day of item X). That auction will then go to Person B's order. It will continue to rotate this way untill both orders are filled.

It's easier to do than read about. Here's an example:Let's say I have 2000 Generic Leather Textures I want to sell to an order at 110.3%. The textures are worth 0.05 PED each. The TT value of my entire stack is 100 ped. I would take my total stack value of 100 PED and multiply by 1.103 to see what it's worth at that markup. I get 110.30 PED. So I round down to 110.00 and divide by 1.103 to get the minimum value I need to sell to price it at 110 PED. That comes to about 99.73. I divide the 99.73 by 0.05 PED per unit to see I need to sell 1994.6 textures...since I can't sell a partial item, I round that up to 1995. The 1995 textures at 0.05 each totals 99.75. At 110 PED buyout that's a markup of 110.28%. In this example, I'd save 5 textures to add to my next stack -- other situations can yield better savings of course. Hope this helps. ![]() |
