Where's logic? Are they pushing people away or inviting them to expand an universe??
In my opinion, it's not the big loots themselves that upset me and other peopel from time to time - but the times you hunt/mine/craft, and get less than 50% back. And then, bang, someone hits the jackpot. Fun for him, but not for the rest of us depositors (yeah I know there are lot of people who profit - either because they are extremely careful of what they do, or because they have skills and equipment to hunt/craft/mine efficiently).

Think a snable dropping 2k ped, if the snable cost 40 pec to kill, it would mean that for that hof, there has been 4000 no-loots. That could possibly be generalized to most mobs.

Once upon a time, not too long ago, there were two levels of mobs: Normal mobs (for atrox, atrox up to guardians) and "ubermobs" (size Atrox Dominants and up). Main difference was that ubermobs could ATH, they *always* dropoped loot (unless the server was bugged, and it was usually just a ped or so). People who hunted ubermobs knew that it was a risk - there was a chance for ATH but usally it was a big loss hunting them. At the change, they removed the difference, and took the worst part from both cathegories: The no looters from normal mobs, and the ATH/risk of big losses from normal mobs. It used to be possible for small level hunting, let's say daikiba young, but because of the amounts of no loots even that is tough.

In a way, it's totally logical, because the finder basically decides how high markup things you get. With TT finder, most chance of oil HOF, and with better finder, higher chance of magerian HOF.

In a way though it's more about how much the player has contributed. I don't mind if someone who has contributed alot gets a HOF with the TT finder, but it's not so fun if a total beginner who get a HOF on his first 100 ped deposit - and then decides to withdraw immediately. Or maybe it's a symptom of the lottery aspect, he won on his 10 USD lottery ticket so he's cashing in the prize.

Don't say know like - stop playing or.. we're here for having fun.Me also dear mates!
For me, PE is getting way too expensive. One thing is the ammo cost for the loss hunts (even when using maxed SIB weapons). Another thing is the cost and hazzle for (L) equipment. The top series (L) rifles carries >200% markup, and can be used up in a day. The armor I use, it's currently not expensive (though I once saw a reseller holding a part), but it comes up to auction a bit irregularily (and not strange since it drops from awkward mobs and probably isn't used so much so a constant drop is warranted.) Another practical example, I've been using adopted montgomery. Nice rifle and decent decay, however when it's used up, a new one cost say 2400 ped (800 ped TT). And rutic bett cost 1750 ped when it's used up - and well only way to be able to get a new one would be if I got loot worth 1750 ped plus markup (to cover fap decay), but usually it's a loss also.

And, the main thing, reason I've hunted is for items. If its so that old items has stopped dropping (I hunt a mob supposedly able to drop some items who doesn't have (L) counterparts), it would be nice to know that. It would greatly lower my expenses.

There will always be people leaving, mainly because they get dissapointed with loot and deposit more than they should or can afford. It is all about how you look at it. EU for me is entertainment, I don't expect to make money playing and I surely don't begrudge the noob with the uber loot. I play within my means, knowing full well that the money I put in is most likely lost, so I deposit small sums per month to have fun. My hunting loot lately has not been great so I tried a bit of crafting which was quite profitable. It sometimes pays to try different professions. When I run out of PED, I take a break and enjoy real life a bit.

The way I see it, EU is in for a major evolution with the comming of the new game engine. We are currently in a sort of holding pattern waiting for the new VU. I predict that when it comes, it will bring many new and fun features that were not available with the current version. I like to think that the story line is on hold waiting for the new game engine to allow it to continue with new possibilities.

EU has a bright future ahead and I am going to be here to see it. This game is not for everyone, that fact has been established over and over again. There are plenty of other MMORPGs out there that you can play with a fixed subscription and not have to worry about losing your shirt. This is especially true for those that have a hard time saying no and keep depositing when they know they should stop.

One of the strongest points of EU is that you can decide how much to spend, if at all. Yes, if you want to keep up with the Joneses, you will need to spend quite a bit of money, but then that is your decision to make. MA is not forcing anyone to deposit.

There will always be items that increase in value over time, look at the A10x amps. When I started playing they were barely worth their TT value, and look at them now. If you keep some of the items you loot, you might be surprised to see that in a couple of years you might be holding a rare item worth thousands of PED.

I am playing EU for the long term, I don't deposit more than I would pay for a subscription based game (with a few exceptions), and still manage to have FUN.

Take a look at the chat window next time you are logged in, the globals and HOFs, and even ATHs are constantly scolling past. To me that means that someone is getting the loot, it just is not you or me. I think most people underestimate the number of people that are actually playing.

EU has changed so much since I started playing, some changes were not so good, but mostly I can say that I like the way EU has evolved.

So loot has not been great lately, does that mean the end for EU or only that we are in the eye of the storm? I for one have fully barricaded my apartment and stocked up on mechi water and nutrio bars for the exciting storm to come.

The glass is always half full in my universe.

Cheers

I think the original poster has a point.

Today there was a 7471 ped Molisk adult. Whilst full congratulations are in order to the person who hit this big hof, I think this universe is basically becoming a big lottery - 40% for the many and a daily jackpot draw for a few people.

I prefered it when average loot was a bit more balanced than this.

Only time will tell, if this strategy will work I suppose.

No, you can do whatever you like. I will continue to play the way I always have, for the long term. My post reflects my personal opinion and is not meant to influence the way you choose to play. That is the nice thing about EU, you decide how to play and how much to pay.

Cheers
