After reading that thread, I went checking what the competition was doing in that auction category...
to notice... nothing that special.
Just that, yes, the six bids are somewhat weird. No explanation to that, but I'd say that no, this is not a case of blatant price manipulation.
Note : I don't know that reseller, except ofc through his bidding.
It's weird as well that all helmets are sold at once, but you cannot draw conclusions from that. It may be a quick need for peds, since the market is pretty weak at the moment.

1. Why calling that price manipulation, when the buyout price is already equal to what seems to be a normal market price at the moment?
2. Do you know how much it cost to post items at +50 peds? Market manipulation is VERY expensive on cheap items. And hence seldom practiced by anyone (for high end items and skills, it's another story). The last blatant case I remember are some skulls some 2-3 months ago.
3. He started the sale at +50, which is a ok price for him, I think.
4. You can report to MA. They usually do something (like temp bans) about blatant cases (same soc ppl creating fake bids, and so on). But I don't see anything blatant here. A unusual situation casting doubts, but nothing else.

A trader/reseller with some self-respect does not engage in fake bids.
The same goes for players.

I didn't read your post because every time i've done so in the past, i've felt both insulted and stupider for having read it. The only thing i'm curious about is, are you a single player or an all-purpose forum account for the Market Manipulators of Calypso Syndicated? It would be kinda interesting reversal for you to all have multiple shills in EU and then all share a single one on EF.

yeh i figure a reseller selling and another reseller buying, in the end, a end user will buy it at an inflated price and thats how we get our goods via the auctions.

manipulation is the nemesis harness (F) and more recently the Ore refiner 105. Both doubled due to one sale and then a few more sales in that same high area. I caused both of those just by thinking about looking at buying them. I knew about what the prices were and as soon as I got the ped together to actually place a bid the prices had doubled. So, now I'm just going to think about force nexus, I think I'll buy nexus, yes, lots of nexus....

Vigi helmet (F) has been stable for a while btw.

ps. at least Zymp is honest about what he does, but I honestly wish he'd stop outbidding me on blueprints, I actually want to craft those!
