Info: Will i be able to run EU once it goes crying?(CryEngine2 info thread)

I do not see Cry2 impacting people too much tbh,
My old Pentium 4, 2.4Ghz, 1Gb mem with Nvidia 7900 AGP rununing WinXP runs crysis full game on low settings option fine at 1280 x 1024 with not too many glitches either which I was rather surprised at.

If you have a PCIe-16X slot in your machine and 2gb of ram in your machine atm you will be laughing, the Nvidia 9600GT are down to under 120 USD atm, I picked mine up at 165 aussie (150 USD) a month back. The 9600GSO model which runs a little slower is under 100 USD.

So all in all, I do not think there will be too many hassles for low end machines if you have the PCIe-16X slot for a GPU card upgrade.

Yesterday I actually upgraded my Operating System to run Vista Ultimate Edition along with the new Office-2007 system on my dedicated Entropia partition. I tested it today, running around on a dual core 2.4Ghz Intel, 2Gb memory, 9600GT.

Probably due to the fresh install, but it runs better than it did on my XP install I did notice however the client loader came up with a red cross for Vista, I do not know why MA has this set.

Zoning through several TPs and ME TPing was fine, running through the PA gallery was fine and running around PA sweat camp while packed this afternoon ran like a dream without any glitches.

That is running with AA x4 full screen 1680 x 1050 widescreen. I also ran around sweat camp AAx4 windowed 1280x1024 (GUI @ 1680x1050) as I like to use the widgets sidebar multi-notes, calculator and currency converter I have setup under vista along with easy access to the EU web resources.

The cores stayed under 60% ea while running windowed mode (another widget monitor) and the memory did not even go over 70% used (I have swap file disabled for performance)

Thus I can say the GPU is what is going to be your greatest investment in running the new engine. And for under the 100 USD mark now for the 9600GSO and possibly the GT edition of the card by the time MA does it's release;

I see no issues. If it runs this well come the new engine, I do not even see much use in having the second machine I have setup here for doing other general tasks tbh.

PS. Actual Window Guard 5.1 from Actual Tools is used to automatically align the Entropia Window to top left 0,0 each time EU is run. No fiddling around with placing the Window on the desktop

Went out and bought full version of Crysis today($40 US), took out one of my cards(had crossfire mode look in 1st post) and with one card i am suprised to say it has problems running at 1600x1200 with all settings at very high and AA of 4x, had to switch to lower resolution and to 2x AA to get to playable FPS. One hell of a demanding engine - very suprised. Popped the second card back in and enabled crossfire - 1600X1200, 4x AA, very high and getting 20-60 fps(playable for me, might not be fore some)

Just placed an order for pc upgrade. ASUS P5LP-LE 945G, Intel Pentium D 950 Dual Core 3.4Ghz, 4GB PC2 6400 800Mhz and the GeForce 8800GT 512MB. Also picked up a extra heavy duty dual core fan. Actually used withdrawal funds to pay for it. Nowhere near what has gone into game but hey,, its a start. Fun will continue Bring it on MA,, lets see it. Is it possible for Pinky to look any hotter ?
