Question: Ingame Ads

The only ones I have seen recently are for McDonald's, although I do not go out of my way to look for them

Quite pointless to watch this shit, as MA was lying on the effect on ads. Infact, it doesn't improve your loot at all so you can also disable it (unless they play the people a few pic for every displayed/downloaded ad)

I have seen the McDonald ads and when Speedracer came out they played that one over and over and over until i had to turn the sound down it was so annoying.

Same here. The speedracer ad made me NOT goto the movie. Anyways other than the fore mentioned ads I see the in game "this is a great game" video over and over. But I am already playing the game why do I need to see this?

Exactly the same for me...the ad made the movie sound totally lame...and i loved speed racer when i was a kid...i wanted to marry speedracer...lol.

The game ad is the worse...when you hear the global sound going off...then the mob screeching...grrrr it throws you sometimes if you have the sound up you think some one or you have globaled cause of the music...

Almost every time I am near a billboard I see that McDonald's ad. They seem to play it every 20 seconds...

Was stated somewhere from Marco. Basicly you personaly don't profit from it. It doesn't increase your personal loot, it only contributes to the "lootpool" (the money paid by persons who put the ads in).

Basicly on personal profit for you and it's also very doubtful if there is any profit at all having it on, as there is no way to prove that the money is indeed distributed.

Conclusion: Your loot will be as shity as before and you will lose as much as before, no matter if you have ads enabled or disabled.

I said lying cause at the begin, when the ads system/option was first introduced it said something like "Disabling ads will decrease the value of your loot".

yea remember that line that i red over and over again,, "Disabling ads will decrease the value of your loot" scared a bit when i got back to eu lol,, but dont think it changed anything,, but hey stay on the safe side :P,,


and for the ads i only remember the navy one and puma,,, as for the rest,, never stay beside a screen long enough to see em.

...i think you misunderstand Mindark's statements. By YOU watching ads, it will not increase YOUR personal lootpool size... it WILL and DOES however increase the amount of loots in the general game-wide lootpool.
Do you understand how advertizers make their money?? they are paid per eyeball that is watching an ad by the ad owner.

For Example: Company A pays for 30 days of in-game advertizing with Mindark on a sliding scale based on eyeball count. At the end of those 30 days, Mindark demonstrates the pre-agreed upon calcuation to company A that says their ad for company A product or service grossed 10k viewer minutes (number of total minutes of ad viewed by total viewers). So Company A now pays Mindark some value on the sliding scale multiplied by 10k. and actually this is only one of dozens of ways advertizing is sold but they all have similar techniques.
So in conclusion that value (or a % of that value, who knows?) then goes into the overal in-game lootpool that will go to any participant not just the specific viewers of that ad.
