Out of morbid curiousity, I studied a few avi's, (I will not name them for privacy reasons, I have just included the data, If you need to know I am sure you can research yourself).

I belive in the following.
Loot is generated into a table for each mob once every 24 hrs ( thats why its not gambling according to swedish law ) The table is generated based on the lootpool for that particular mob. Once you loot a mob the system does something to determine if it was a no loot or if loot should be fetched from the loot table in the database. The function to see if it was a no loot is serverside , otherwise we would only get lootlag on mobs that actually gave loot. Maybe this function can be affected in the way you act , maybe if youre on the same server alot you can build up a better average of actually getting loot. Items come in waves , when system is in item mode some tt values generated in loot becomes items instead of the regular oils and hides and wools. Then the loot table must have some spots with a special tag , like Uberhof of something, when someone hits that spot , loot of higher value is calculated based on the hp of the mob, which gives huge loots for bigger mobs ( like 32k hogglo and such ) So its all about timing , if you hunt alot you will loose alot if not on the wave atm, and if you hunt sparsley you can still be lucky if you can predict the waves and only hunt on them (or mine , or craft ) Eco of your setup does not in any way affect loot , but it will affect your average cost of hunting , which in the long run will increase your chance of profit or breaking even. my 2 pecs // ermik |

Actually it is people who have studied and hunted a particular mob for a period of time until they know the mob so well they can guestimate when a mob is going to HOF and Uber HOF.
I have seen it numerous times by numerous avatars on numerous different mobs. They global or HOF they log out for some time, then next you know they log back in and within half an hour to an hour they have globaled or HOFed again and they log out again and so on and so on. They stay in the same place long enough to ascertain that the loot pool has been filled adequately and hunt that area long enough until the get UBER HOF goes off. While waiting for the UBER HOF to go off the stick to the log in log out pattern they have established with their particular mob. So it's not how often you hunt but really how well you know the popularity of area for loot pool and the mob you are hunting. Warmest regards Rayne |

probably C: they know what they are doing. or for the conspiracists, D: MA is paying them or feeding them info.
however without knowing who the first two avatars are its difficult not to discount random/luck. the fact they have a high loot from a few globals may mean they then dont continue following a few good hits (though the 70k from 11 is very lucky). Have all other globals by the avatar been recorded, its was pretty hit and miss for a while? the analysis also ignores those who hunt nearly exclusivly in teams, but that the team name might change. |

Aridash it wouldn't be hard to find those avatars just look in ATH in HOF list lol the names will be right there for all to see.
Ermik what it says is that most high end looters concentrate on a specific mob (usually their favorite one) and learn what is going to happen. Take into account that most high end looters have been around a long time, that most high HA mobs are hunted by those people, most high loots on small HA mobs are little known avatars. Also it is well known that high concentrations of hunters in a particular area breeds more payouts and higher payouts. Warmest regards Rayne |

There are 1000 lottery tickets. One person buys 100, and 900 people buy just one. The chance that the jackpot is won by one of the people with just one ticket is much higher than the person that bough 100 tickets.
I think its the same in EU. |
