(L) Vs. UL

I've read very polarized views on the forum about the value of (L) gear.

So I would like to ask directly, do you or do you not use and support the new (L) economy.

Some items, you have no choice. Like mining amps (well, there are a couple UL ones). Others, like weapons, are undeniably more economical to use unless you are uber skilled.

Some armours are even more economical than the UL ones if you get a good % on them.

The argument that I hear is that you don't have any resale value at the end. That it is just money down the drain. But in many cases, you spend less on decay, and with the UL one, you just get the money you spent back.

On the UL front. You can have an excellent weapon or armor that will never break and will likely go up in value, and may even earn back your decay. But you need a fat wallet for those items.

I personally can not afford to get into the UL economy. I have a set of Vigi armor, 1 Bravo, and 2 a-103's. Other than that, my gear is all crafted or (L). (A couple MF chips too, but they don't count)

So, where does the forum sit on the issue as a whole? (L) or UL?

I agree with this.

I view (L) items as prepaid repair.

I'm very cautious about the market value of some of the mid level UL gear available at the moment - I'm not willing to invest too much in something that maybe replaced with a superior (L) alternative.

UL. No 10/10 for me. I dont like to bother having to find a new amp or riffle every couple days, same for FAP's. UL armors because of cost of buying a decent L armor. I use L finders and L mining amps.

I find it depends on the item. Some (L) items are useless because their markup is too high. It is nice to have a UL item that goes up in value. If I weren't so poor I'd go completely UL. (L) allows me to get a decent item without investing a huge amount of ped.

L the other guys said, L gear is prepaid decay. And usually, if bought at a good price, a lower decay than the one u got with UnL.

I'm an (L) guy. Weapons, finders, amps, and sometimes, even the fap and armor.

I use a mixture of both. L and UL armors, L and UL faps, L and UL guns.

My current dream loot would be getting a nice dmg/sec UL SIB gun. The ultimate dream is one day I'd like the skills and ped card to hunt with mod merc and I think finding a decent UL SIB gun in the interim would make that more likely to happen one day.

As for me i am totally with UL items,,, saves the head ache of looking for new weapons and amps evry time one broke,,, i am using all UL except for the gun and launchers(dont count launchers),,,

best day in EU for me would be if i get a nice UL rocket launcher

(please ma pick me when you throw it in xP)

an oo yea with L items you count decay with % and you cant repair it,, feels like a smack in the face

UL as much as I can.

I dont see buying something thats gonna be dead and TOTALY useless in a few hours or days at best..

When was the last time you bought a car that would only start so many times before you could not use it again? (Chevy Chevette owners need not reply)

yes I pay more in decay atm but doesnt most here say that return is in direct proportion to that decay cost?
I still dont see MA rewarding anyone for being completely ECO. They make no money that way.

Everyone knows what I think of (L).

Love these low low apis prices. Of course, I will be of a different mindset by the time I hit Commando, and by then I think we will see some more interesting developments in weapons armor etc. (L) makes it fair for everyone.
