Yeah, my post wasn't meant as an attack, more as some advice from a moderation perspective. MMA has been reporting some posts, and has mentioned it again in a post further down, but its very difficult to intervene as many of said posts don't really break the forum rules and MMA is also somewhat attacking others back.

I think thoreau's advice about MMA getting an Entropia Holdings EF subforum is indeed a very good plan.

Don't misunderstand, I'm not AT ALL knocking Lavawalker so please don't make it appear than I am.

I'd just prefer major talking points be something myself or my BOD has discussed prior to making them public fact.

I honestly don't think I'm attacking anyone. Sometimes to defend against an attacker one has to swing his arms a bit but I've just decided that I would let mods handle things unrelated to the threads and stop entertaining negative posts.

And I REALLY wasn't trying to attack folks from the UK!!!! haha

As far as having Entropia Sub Forums, I think it would be a great idea but I've talked to 711 about it already and I really don't want to shell out a few hundred bucks a month just to be bashed in own private home every 5 minutes.

I do hope mine was not considered one of the backhanded enquiries. to give fresh oppurtunity for the question to addressed, as after reading the business plan im still curious about this aspect, i'll reiterate.

is there a real Limited company behind this venture and will funds go to that company or will all trades directly through the game, or are both anticipated? would investors become shareholders on that company?

The plan initially was to establish an LLC with which I would be able to issue shares of common stock to investors that are REAL and documented. Then I realized that I would need to file an S Corp for such a thing, I just haven't updated the business plan yet. The problem is, filing for an S Corp is more complex than filing an LLC and there are more tax issues that stem from having an S Corp.

Whats more, due to the nature of EU and the locations of the player base, there may well be some stipulations to issuing legal stock to foreign players.

So, in a nutshell, the main way I see this actually working in the sense of investor security is if MA somehow imipliments my stock exchange concept as written and regulates things a bit to keep things honest on all accounts as trying to establish a legal entity out of a virtual economy could get hairy.

HOWEVER, to file an S Corp and accept direct financial investments into a REAL bank account where everything is documented, this could open up doors as what the company does with it's investment dollars, be it purchase a million wenches or exchange the real currency in PEDS for virtual investment could work out better. This however doesn't take into account the same potential problems relating to the legalities of international exchange etc.

It's really a big hairy ball of wax at this point and it all stems from the security concerns of the players.

Now, if there was no legal entity and a group of people pooled their PEDS to purchase a Land Area and split the profits of the Land Area by redistributing those PEDS, I really don't think there is any problem. Though I assume.

It's when you begin messing with international contracts, stocks etc that things get hairy.

In a nutshell, all trades have been expected to take place within the game using the PED, only. No cash transactions.

thanks for clearing that up. i didnt realise it was so bureaucratic and difficult in the US. Its a shame really because thats the thing that could resolve all the trust issues, easier if its known that the managment is legally accountable.
