MA set the prices on everything by controlling the supply, resellers only help the price reach its destination. It is true that often prices go overboard but they will come down sooner or later if no end users buy them. I am sure many resellers got burned during the last few months as markup of many items went down, like IRL the crisis separate the good business people from those jumping on the wagon ![]() |

For me its a big diffeence. If I sell lets say unused a104 amp because I upgraded to a105 I really want to sell it to real hunter. I dont want it to be stored in storage by some nonplayer! And I think I help the real players base with that. Players should stick to players! Not support resellers who destroys the game. (driving prices on low-med equip high makes it much harder for the newbs to start the game, BIG PROBLEM!) So me, as a player, support only other players most of the time. Only reseller I support is Sarah from twins. I sell her taylor mats, when I dont have enough big amount to put t in auct. I consider her as a better TT. Cheers all |

Oh well mister clever noob, so they keep some prices high. And? U get them at uninflated price and sell them at actual price? Dont think so. U get some % from the resell. Lets say 10%. If the item u talkin about has a ,,nice and high mu,, of lets say +190% u make your 10%. If this same item has 150% u surely have still you way to get em under mu and still sell em with +10% margin. No difference in your margin. Unfortunatelly u dont know what u talkin bout, u will understand when/if u leave sweat camp. And maybe u would like to buy something with ,,nice and high mu,, ROFL! |

Resellers exist in real life just as they do ingame.. 90% of businesses are simply reselling what another company produced at a lower cost.. The company I work for buys logitech items ( computer goods) marksup the prices and then sells to stores as the "middle man" or reseller lol then the stores sell to u at an even higher price.. Its a part of real life and a part of ingame life as well. Deal with it and move on... Theres enough sweat price and reseller threads on EF already

In real life, if there is a demand, there will usually be a supply also. (Except for cases like countries in war.) There is resellers IRL also, doing things like buying up large (virtual) supplies of coffee and oil in the form of investment funds, on the other hand I don't think they have that big impact on the economy. They are a bit like daytraders. I would guess that if those "resellers" would be considered a serious danger for IRL supplies, politicians would react.

Reselling small amounts of refined materials, for example, at high %, isn't a bad thing to do. It's useful. I've often bought something from auc at high % just to get my hands on it quick, for crafting, when I don't want to buy a lot for loads of ped.
But if you're talking about people who've got tons of real world cash and coming in to dominate the business side of the game... that is always going to be controversial - but in the same way that any monopoly is. You need money to make money. Just like real life. People who say resellers are scum, may as well go to their local shops and shout it there, and see what response they get :-) SHdS |

Ah, the resellers the traders, who is the good, who is the bad...
Rather than saying this one is good (for you) this one is bad (for you), think higher, at community level. The trader who buy a stack of 3,000 PED of oil or wool and resells it in small quantity is USEFULL to whole community because: - Original seller can't waste days to split and sell his HoF loot. - Final buyer needs 20 PED oil, he can't afford more. This is an example only, every reseller who provides a TRADING SERVICE can be considered as a trader (a good for the community). Now the guy who buys all semi-rare item and makes fake sales with second avatars to manipulate EU price is only usefull to the other sellers, not the buyers. So this one can de said the bad as the whole community could live without him. ![]() |

This Topic never seem to get old
There where always resellers in Eu but it became a new Level after the Asteroid Event and Club Neverdie Introdution that bought a lot of new Participants into EU. The Prices shoot trough the Roof and most people realized you can make good monney with reselling. I personally hated it because all the goodies i wanted to obtain became suddenly more expensive than i was willing to spend. On the flipside when i decided to cash out and sell all skills and gear exactly this fact i hated so much bevorehand made me exiting the circuit with a nice ammount of Profit instead of a huge negative balance i had recived without this price explosion. Today i look different at Entropia Universe. Resellers just understand the market better than the average Participant and also moderate speculating. If you certain you can sell an item for 300 ped more as it listed in the auction or a shop it would unnatural not buying it. If the system allow to create artificial shortages of gear like Ml35 and other higher Weapons by outbuy the market and dictate the price its probably called lowish but thats it how humans are and act real life and virtual life. In the end, as long someone still buy it they made nothing wrong at all. In the End the People who want to use the Items make the Price, Resellers just make sure they Goodies reach only the ones who are willing to pay most and reduce the chance of a bargain to everyone else. If someone belive the market stinks, they should blame Mindark because only they have the power to change it for better. But they dont, probably they just want it exactly this way ? For example the Apartment issue. Mindark allowed participants to buy tons of apartments for the pure Purpose of reselling. The Resellers ask for prices that only a few persons are willing to spend. Most Apartments are idle because of this and make the Decoration Crafting Profession kinda useless. A whole market branch suffers here but mindark is not acting to improve it somehow. That leads me to the conclusion reselling is appreciated by Mindark and even the so called Scum of Entropia have a fixed role in this Universe. No matter how much some people detest them and would like to get rid of them it wont happen. Not until Mindark decide to do it by themself. Adapting is one of the most overused words in Entropia Universe but in a economy without a legal force that have real power to enforce some rules or prices the greedy ones will always dictate the market rules. |
