The result would be about unchanged loots. A part of the melee
repairs goes to the loot pool. The exact ratio is not known, we could
assume it is about 50%-50%. So an axe is just like a gun.

At one time 1x0s became overly popular, but the reason was not
the ratio mentioned above, but 1x0's too good economy.

No, it's not confirmed. But even if there isn't one MA has to keep check on how much money goes into loots; wouldn't want everyone to withdraw at the same time without the money from MA to back it up.

But that idea is pretty much what the loot pool is all about.



On another note; You are entitled to the ramaining value of your account if PE goes offline(not sure if it's the same thing with getting banned from PE). So if you deposited 100PED and only bought TT stuff for TT+0.00 you will still have all your money (value of a gun = TT = money = PED = $$$). But in case you bought a gun for TT+50 with a TT value of 20PED you would only have 100PED-50(TT+)-20+20 = 50 PED



Has anyone ever gotten an answear to where the appartment monthly fee go to? Same thing with the TP on the spacestation?

Don't forget MindArk also actually possesses all the real cash deposited which is probably millions and millions of dollars. With this amount they must first cover their expenses like game maintance, employees, advertising, etc., plus they must cover any player withdraws.

But, I would guess that at any given time this still leaves massive amounts of money in which they are free to either simply collect interest off of in a conventional bank or, more likely, to invest in other higher yielding ventures.

I would say that the actual amount they collect from ingame activity like decay is nothing compared to the profits generated by investing/interest off of the accumulating sum of player deposits.

I would say the 'loot pool' is virtual. They adjust their parameters to balance the amount of money spent on ammo and weapon decay with the amount of money going out as loot (times some constant which may include some MA profit). They will run a moving average, and if the loot is too high (suppose all players suddenly learn to play better and spend less ammo to kill the same monsters) they will reduce the loot by a fraction.

Their current running balance on the loot account goes up when someone buys ammo or repairs an axe, it goes down when someone receives a loot. The 'loot pool' is really just how much they can afford to let it deviate from zero.

As loot variations and HOFs are attractive to players and thus important to MA, I would estimate that the virtual loot pool is at least on the order of $100000, or one million PED.

Consequently, a HOF of 30000 PED should not affect loots by more than around 3%, probably less.
