Dear Friends.
After a longer Ofline time i enoy PE since a few weeks with Hollyman again. Same time I noticed that in is very dificoult to explain a NooB what a fair prize on an Item is. The most direct go to www.peauction.com and not like to pay a regular prize because the info page says its overprized. I only needed one view on the site to regugnize the fault of the programme. First it only count auction items that are not sold-out. This excludes the fixed auctions on items with fixprize. Second the infopage not regugnizes the demand on an item. So why should I pay more than TT for a EK2600 ? Shure peauction.com is a good tool to check a value, but do yourself a favour. Also check the different informations and demand. When you not do, it wil be you rip-off someone else or get ripped without an idea ![]() This is just written to get it out of my mind. Make your own conclusions and feel free to discus ![]() Regards. Hollyman |

So basically you are complaining that your reselling practices are hampered by the transparent market information peauction offers? Did I miss the sarcasm tags or something?

I think PE Auction is a great way to determine the current value of an item.
Now it is my choice to pay more then the current value and not because some one tries to sell it for an overrated price. I have to agree with Daar; perhaps your post is even funny ![]() |

lol
if I see an item that went for +4k with say 48 bids THAT is what the item is worth not some mad CCuber with to much $ paying +6k on buyout, I'm happy not to see those, and peauction is a VERY good site to stop yourself getting screwed over by scumy resellers BUT can be a little missleading |

I agree peauction.com can be misleading because it does not regard buyouts.
And I agree that some items on peauction.com are much lower valued than they should be: An example: look at fruit and nutrio bars and sweetstuff: A short time ago (perhaps this is still the case), buying fruit and sweetstuff at the peauction.com prices (1.7 and 1.1 pec per piece, respectivey) and refining them into nutrio bars created nutrio bars worth about 2.8 pec per piece, much more than the peauction.com prices (2.5 pec per piece). This page is a great tool, but you must not trust it blindly ![]() |

Before buying stuff I often check PEAuction but I like to use the graph, and check the yearly status, ok its only got since october but you can see the fluctuation of items for me I want to buy at the best price possible not for reselling but to be able to afford more ammo, repairs, items. I dont sell anything I buy only crappy skins and paint which I loot, but I really like PEAuction and the graph makes it a valuble tool indead check the prices out. And you can see whent they were cheap how cheap they were, in another years time and as PEAuction gets older the prices will give a much better reflection of the market IMO, so in essence it should make your job a bit easier if you can work out when the trend lines are going to occur?

Another nice site to check prices is www.pe-trade.net
But wait a second here! That show even lower prices, due to more complete data sets it seems. Thats not really what you wanted, was it?? Dont feel sorry for you, those auction tracking sites makes things very visible as to market values and if you try to charge much more for the items than the implied values on that site, well, youre overcharging.. [EDIT] MD-50: not found on pe-auction.com, TT+1520 on petrade.net Mk.II: ~same markup on the two sites, 68-69 PED ancient mk.II ~same markup on the two sites, ~1860 PED Mod AS-117: TT+17k on peauction.com based on one sale with bids, TT+13,4k on petrade.net based on many more bids.. Yes, the TT read directly can be tad misleading, but you CAN get more info with regards to price development there. Simle think to do if youre a skanky reseller.. if you dont get the asking price and is so sure its worth what you ask.. dont sell.. [/EDIT] Last edited by Tigerman; 03-28-2006 at 12:04..
