I have working experience of this, trust me, people knowing who is the GM is a bad idea. All you get is constant out of game (in IMs) calls from people. can you just, if you have a minute, such a body is naked again!

If there was to be GMs and the player based was used as a hiring pool it should be done in secret. Not as a popularity contest!

Agreed. The identities of the GM's should only be known by MA...

GM's need paying though, because otherwise they will just hunt for the majority of their time. I think we need some starting equipment, its impossible to start without a mentor or depositing without spending ridiculous amounts of time in-game. Just a man mph, jester D-1 and bits of armour. Or alternatively have a shooting range, where you can train up to lvl 100-200 in either skill for free then have to pay for the time/ammo. Something to get newbs interested that wont actually cost MA money but will keep them going, the oil right was a great idea but it was put in a pvp area and nubs can't get much out of it, especially when there is no nearby tp.

yes i see same things too , but usual GM got power .. i mean like create item , give money , spawn mobs ...

but GM with the power to write in green in main chat... is pretty useless for the whiner begging player

My idea of a GM is someone that has no Godlike powers..maybe being invincible in a PK zone would be ok. No Super uber weapons,no special skills...even having the ability to loot while your on patrol should be nixed.

The only reason you are doing the part of being a GM is to uphold the rules..nothing else.

The avatar could be a second one..totally brand new,one that has maybe a distinguishing outfit...nothing more and a means to contact others in your group..like the socchat works. One big thing they can do is dispense penalties and give advice to the noobs.

As I said earlier, they should have rotational shifts. Only on Specific times and dates you can log in as a GM. Other times you can't,so abuse would be non existant. And the buddy/team/group system would be its own watchdog.

And I agree with DD,,total anonymity..period. Break that and your out.
