Cheap ressources being resold

It have come to my attention through my own and other participants experience, that a certain person is buying up all ores and enmatters available in shops all around Entropia, with the purpose to resell these.

The first question that might come to your mind is, what's the problem if this person buy for the price you want for it? I did answer this question in another thread yesterday;

"I sell ores to crafters, yes CHEAP. The reason is pretty simple, if I sell the ores I mine cheap to the crafters, the tools they make will be cheaper for me and other participants. If a person buy them for resell purpose, this idea is broken."

The person who buy up all these ores tell me that it's only a big favor for the miners - pushing up the price. I and other miners that sell our ressources through our shops cheap only hurt the rest of the miners according to the reseller.

My idea and reason to sell cheap is already stated in italic-style above.

I have spoken with the reseller and the person refuse to stop these activities even after I kindly asked it to be stopped.

I advise everyone to be aware of this problem and that ressource shops all around Entropia that feel this being a problem set access to the shop at private and only invite crafters they know will use the ressources themself. Yes it will hurt the business, but lets hope MindArk will respond to this problem by implanting a ban function. When a person buy an item you should have the opportunity to ban this person from further entrance to the shop.

Hey, well my thoughts is that stores and such well even if it will hurt myself sometimes should sell for the price intended to the general market and not only for crafters, understand me right now what i mean is that if you want to sell cheaper to certain crafters do that in "private" and not by stores, everyone will use this options of making fast peds or how you call it, even though i hate em myself hehe the resellers that is, but yet again its a market economy and ppl sure are gonna take advantage of this, and this is what MA actaully want ppl to do also, just look at some ads. the have around calypso (reseller advert. they have going)...

So well go around it, or im afraid you have to get used to this.

Well if you are selling so cheap he still makes a profit after the 5% auction markup tax you just might be selling too cheap...

There is another point here, resellers buy ores (or try to) under peauction price. We sell ores for just under peauction price. Difference is we are helping not resellers.

And one shop with two miners for it, will not be affecting the hundreds of resellers and more crafters!!!

We mine for crafters, resellers are not a business we want

You are complaining because someone bought your stuff at the price you set?

If you only want to sell to a select few, close the store and sell to the people you want. I think MA has bigger issues than to mess with limiting access to stores by avatar name. The reseller will just make a new account and buy it all up under that avatar and you would not be able to stop them. If you only let select people into your store, you can accomplish this through a friend's list and not pay rent each month.

If I should make private trades to sell all my ores the idea of my shop and then fun I have with it would be gone. Private trades would take me forever, from this shop the crafters can come when they have time and are online to get some ores.

A ban will help.

Yes, my first thought is why are you putting out for PUBLIC sale something that is intended to be bought by a select group of people????

That someone comes and takes advantage of good prices should come as no surprise.

I used to work in a discount store located outside of a Resort town.

I would regularly see the owners of the resort shops come into this discount store and buy out our stock of some item, specifically to sell it at their own store in town for five to ten times the price.

It's business.

If you want only certain people to buy your stuff, then DON'T PUT IT OUT FOR SALE TO THE PUBLIC!

For example, IRL hairdressers buy their stuff from certain shops that cater only to those in the business. The average person off the street can't buy anything there, and it says so plainly on the front signage.

Do you go to the clothing store, computer store, etc. and look for sale items? of course you do. Same thing.
