Mindforce

Being an active mindforce user with over 10 000 mind essence spent a week, I’m now fed up by the endless stupidity on the mind essence market.
I have made a little compilation with regards to different mindforce chips to show just how bad this whole mindforce thing is becoming.
The calculations are based on 600% for the mind essence, which is of the LOWER requested prices as of today September 9th 2005.
Prices requested today are normally 600-800%.

Teleport Chips:
1. Lesser TP use 9 ME for 700m with a cost of 54 PEC. Thats 7,7 PEC/100m
2. Moderate TP use 82 ME for 4900m with a cost of 492 PEC. Thats 10,0 PEC/100m.
3. Good TP use 118 ME for 7200m with a cost of 708 PEC. Thats 9,8 PEC/100m.
Personally, I don’t find it very ok to pay over 7 PED to teleport within the same continent.
Also, the prices are so high that if you don’t use the TP chip and run instead, you save 1 PEC ever 10 meters you run.

Damage Inflicting Chips
This is when things are about to get ugly. These calculations are based on ME use and damage ONLY! These numbers are NOT including decay on the chip and the implant you need to have inserted to be able to use the chips!
“OK” Damage/PEC on guns are normally considered to be around 4 and anything below 3,8 is quite bad..
1. Medium Nerve Blast use 5 ME and deal 36 dmg. Thats 7,2 dmg/ME or 1,2 dmg/pec.
2. Potent Nerve Blast use 5 ME and deal 45 dmg. Thats 9 dmg/ME or 1,5 dmg/pec.
3. Moderate Firestorm use 12 ME and deal 140 dmg. Thats 11,67 dmg/ME or 1,94 dmg/pec.
4. Good Firestorm use 15 ME and deal 168 dmg. Thats 11,2 dmg/ME or 1,87 dmg/pec.
5. Potent Firestorm use 19 ME and deal 199 dmg. Thats 10,47dmg/ME or 1,75 dmg/pec.
Now that’s just GREAT numbers don’t you think? The damage inflicting chips are currently under half the damage/PEC that’s considered ok on guns and that’s even when you leave out the decay!

Heal chips
Unfortunately I haven’t been able to test the max heal on the heal chips yet. However 4,5 HP/PEC would be a nice number to expect, which means you’ll need the following numbers..
Chip ME used Cost (Est. heal)
1.Medium Heal use 2 ME. That cost 12 pec. For the chip to have 4,5 hp/pec it need to heal 54 hp.
2. Potent Heal use 3 ME. That cost 18 pec. For the chip to have 4,5 hp/pec it need to heal 81 hp.
Once again, this is NOT including decay. Do we really think that well get 54 heal from a level 3 chip or 81 heal from a level 7 chip? I sure don’t…

My suggestion to all mindforce users out there are the following;
DONT BUY MIND ESSENCE FOR ANYTHING ABOVE 400%. LET THE RESELLERS BE STUCK WITH IT!

Well, there has never been an item which has been a resellers heaven as far as i know (otherwise, let me know ).

Problem here lies more with the sweat, prices were around 2 pec, now the double is a doable rate (and so ME doubles as equally as sweat). Maybe MA experiences less starters (read: sweaters). Another conspiracy theory is that the noobs are gathering and fixing the sweatprice!

Remove the sweatcap, save Mindforce!

Great Idea. We wouldnt have to get but a few bottles per drop (could drop like ep-17's in space), that way newer ppl would always gather more, but prices would come down. + rep

good idea! this way the slave labor our newbies are forced to doing/talked into by others would end and MF could eventualy become available for the masses because one would only have to buy nexus or mine for it him/herself and turning low-end MF chips and implants from trash to useful goods.

Srtyker.. how common are EP-17s in space loot? not everyone knows that so maybe let's say sweat bottles should drop as often as hides and since the TT of sweat is SO low, it wouldn't hurt the lootpool that much.

Have you looked at this from a sweater's point of view? I haven't sweated much since I reached the sweat cap in January. Sweating was much easier then when you could trap mobs. i tried sweating for 10 minutes now to see how much you can get. I got 4+3 bottles and very many "no loots". Thats's 7*6=42 bottles/hour. You earn 1.68 PED/hour if you sell all you got for 4 pec/bottle. Much money, eh?

Let's see how much you have to sweat if you want to use TP chips.
Lesser TP, 9 ME, 13 minutes of sweating or 1.8 minutes/100 m.
Moderate TP, 82 ME, 2 hours of sweating or 2.4 minutes/100 m.
Good TP, 118 ME, 2.8 hours of sweating or 2.3 minutes/100 m.

I'm sure a professional sweater can get much more sweat than I can. Maybe twice or three times as much. But running 100 m takes about 20 seconds (noob speed) and this is always a much slower way to transport (if you use your own sweat). Running is even faster with a skilled avatar and it's free to run but not to use TP chips because of the decay.

There would still be a market for the sweaters just as there is still a market for oil rig runners.

How would crafters/miners feel if after a certain level, they could no longer mine oil, and only rig runners could supply it? Then all of the sudden, the cost to make things with oil would skyrocket. And I bet Ship owners would go ballistic. But isnt space flight a luxury too as some say about MF ?

Just something to think about.

Looking at this from a sweaters perspective

Well, i can look at this from a sweaters perspective.
I start the game to sweat, i get the sweat to 10 pec a bottle and it drop 20 bottles each attempt. That would be sweet!

However, sweat is FREE PEDs for haning around in camp phoenix or wherever getting to know and talk to people. Sweating shouldnt be REMOVED in my opinion, knuckles idea of having sweat lootable AND sweatable would be better. That way people CAN sweat to get started and prices would drop.

MindForce at the moment IS a luxury for sure and maybe it still should be, but under 2 dmg/pec not even including decay is just lame.
In my opinion, teleporting should cost you something when not using stationary teleports for sure, but not by far as much as it is now.
When it comes to using mindforce for other things than teleporting, that should be doable at less than twice the cost of using a gun. Afterall, mindforce is not only twice as expencive, its also regulated by your skills to what effect you can make use of it in addition to taking more time and planning.
For example the nerve blast chips are not very useful without having a focus chip to avoid being interrupted in your concentration phase and the concentration phase is longer than the reload of a gun. Then you have to take into account that if you want to use a nerve blast chip with decent damage output, you need quite a few skill levels.
When it come to teleport chips you also have a "target miss offset" which is dependant on your Chance of success. I can assure you that paying 7 PED to miss your target by 4km using a good teleport chip with very low cos can be fun, but VERY inefficiant and not of any actual good use for moving from A to B..

as already stated, mindforce is a luxury, yes, cuz no mf chip does anything that you cant do, for less, with a gun or fap. for that reason, we dont have to use it. all these price gouging sweatnoob bastards better not push too hard or no one will buy, simple as that =D

forget sweat, do away with it. edit the textures for nexus and turn nexus into mind essence, so miners can drill it from the ground. im not particularly interested in the sweatnoobs having some way to pull free money out of their ass so they can 'try' the game. you can 'try' it just fine by logging on and hanging around or running for tps for a while. but if you wanna play, you should put a bit of money into the system, just as you would to play WoW or everquest or anything else. theres no free lunch. but apparently ppl think in pe, there can be.

uh, while typing this, i just now noticed the 'stay on topic no spam' msg in the background of this little window. hahahah. i have to tilt my laptop screen way forward to see it at a very oblique angle. oops, im off topic. hahaha

anyway, mind essence in the ground, not in the resellers inventory. only way to go. this would solve several problems;

no more asshole price gouging noobs and resellers. i saw that lusitania lc-store auction reseller bitch yesterday. 20 agility, absolutely no skills at all. just flipping shit for profit. needs to be shot.

the disparity between how lucrative ores and enmatter are would be improved.. all the moneys in ores and we all know it =D

miners would have another niche. this game is all about the hunters, and we all know it =D

the community would learn more about high level MF because more ppl would be able to reach those upper levels, for less money, and perhaps unlock triggered MF skills, about which we dont know a damn thing.

this would cause ME flippers to do one of two things.. either start mining/hunting/crafting (you know, an honest profession =P) or start reselling something else. some percentage of these would hunt, which would add to the loot pool (if you believe in that sorta thing.. im not sure i do).

my logic is undeniable.
