When chip deals go bad ...

I just bought an IRD chip from Serenity, and the deal went smoothly (except for the fact she gave me a 0.96 chip and not a 0.99 one but I was ok with that). I usualy don't charge for the tool decaying 4 ped if the deal is ok. I told her to contact me if she would like to sell me more skills. Five minutes later I already got a pm from her asking me if I did want to buy 1k mining skills.
After some pm'ing back and forth we agreed on 8.4 ped for each pec the chip was filled. I gave her an example what she would get for a 0.50 ped chip (420 ped for the full chip - gsi = 325 ped). She agreed on that and I went to meet her.
The skills turned out to be on a different character with 0 peds or just any item on it. I refused to just give the gsi and the tool without an insurance, so she logged back with her main char and gave me 110 ped and I gave the gsi + tool to the other char when she relogged.
She chipped the mining skill and she was already sortof swearing the chipping took 200 mining skills. The chip turned out to be a 0.19 ped one and I was a bit worried about it, I just hoped I would break even on reselling the chip.
Serenity relogged and in the meantime I calculated what I owned her, wich turned out to be 174.6 ped for the chip and the tool (19 * 8.4 = 159.6, 159.6 - gsi = 64.6, 64.6 + insurance = 174.6). This would give me around 10 ped profit on reselling it wich is a lot lower profit margin I usually get, not really worth the effort.
She clearly was upset by the chip wich was filled for a very low % and was charging me 269.6 ped for the chip!! (meaning 159.6 + insurance). I don't know if she tried to scam me (she did accuse me of doing so), but finally we agreed on me giving the chip and the tool to her in the exchange for the insurance.
We discussed for 30 minutes more about it, but I could not convince her.
In the end she even tried to charge me 8 ped for the tool decay ... and that made me post this topic.

Well, someone is obviously confused here, lets find out who he is.

If I get this correct, you gave her the chip and tool, she gave you the insurance (110).
She load the chip with 0,19ped, gives you the chip/tool back. At this point you should return the insurance (she gave you the chip/tool back) AND pay her for the skills she loaded (0,19x8,4=159,6).

Total: 269,6ped

I don't include the chip price in an agreement if I'm buying full chips, but when the chip isn't filled for the maximum the price of the GSI has a bigger impact on the total price. When a chip is filled for only 50% for example the price is reduced by 50% but the GSI price remains fixed resulting in a reduced price for the skills itself.

As for beeing a reseller, sure I am, but I'm not driving the prices up. I'm not the type of reseller witch buys chips just to drive the price up, its more like I try to keep them from falling.

I'll give an example:
When someone plans to quit the game and starts to sell out his/her skills, the auction gets flooded by chips of a specific type, wich temporary drops the price (sometimes upto 30%). If I buy chips in bulk (lets say 20-30 filled chips or so), I sell them with a few at a time. It keeps the price steady and thats where I earn my peds, but it sometimes can take sevral weeks before all the chips get sold.

If I buy chips on auction and resell them I allways roughly take the price I bought it for as the opening bid, and around a 10% increse for buyout. If you want to wait for an auction to end, you'll pay the market price for your chip, if you want it right away you'll pay a bit above the market price (wich is normal I guess).
If you would look at the auction, you'll notice the chips I'm selling usually are priced one of the lowest prices found on auction.

To summerise, I sortof pay a service to the community. My chips tend to be cheaper then most of the chips found. You could get a better deal if you wait for an auction without a buyout to end, but most of the time thats pretty unlikely. I buy the chips in bulk and that makes people selling out pretty happy, I sell cheap chips and that makes lots of people happy to :-)

So, you are just gonna keep spending money and never attempt to make any back? Nowt wrong with reselling. No reputaion ruined here. It's called enterprise, it's what makes the world go round.
