A10x Update

On April 18th of 2007 I started a thread for discussing the future of A10x amps since they were no longer dropping. The market has gone through some turmoil since that time, including a huge upswing in prices, and an inevidable adjustment afterwards. here is the data I originally posted:

"Current available quantities at auction and prices:

A101:9:+18
A102:3:+22
A103:14:+11
A104:15:+62
A105:1:+600
A106:0:Charts are useless, well over +2000"

Here is the current situation:

A101:6:+43
A102:4:+64
A103:17:+26
A104:7:+106
A105:2:+785
A106:0:No current information.

36 amps for auction. It appears that over the past week or so the prices have begun a steady increase once again as the supplies are diminished. I even noted orders on auction for 5 A104's and 5 A103's at +90 and +22, along with several other orders of lesser size. The speculating hoarders who bought early on have mostly taken thier profits during the huge run-up, and so have most of the people who had a few squirreled away for no real reason in thier storage. I doubt there is anything left out there that can contain the price rises any longer. I am wondering if in 3 months the second set of stats will look as cheap as the first set does today. The first set was taken well into the rise, 3 months earlier would have looked insane because they still dropped.

Well, imk2 aside, they're the most economical weapons in the game. And they don't drop anymore. So I'd say they're worth a bit!

Then again I would say that. I have one of each of them

I have 14 squirreled away of various sizes. Any resellers wanna offer me stupid money for them?

But truthfully, I tend to give one away to disciples every now and again, so I guess as they are not dropping, prices will indeed go up....

Actually I think they do drop - all of them. Just that the higher ones (A105 and, in particular, A106) are very rare to find.

Yeah, you're probably right

I'm thinking the amps should actually be worth more at the current state due to amount in existance. I mean sure some value lays with the stats of the item but I mean anything A105 and lower should be worth more if you look at how many have been sold on auction in the decade and the price they are worth compared to the A106.

Right or no?

Right on... in some cases I have 3 of one type. I am not hoarding them or selling them. Nothing worse than a long hunt and your amp dies. Always a good idea to have a spare.

I also have not looted an amp in a loooong time. I would speculate that is was about 6 months ago and I got it from an Argo.

It is a shame about the markup these days, but then the amp nerf was more of a shame.

I'm glad i kept at least one of each i looted, especially the 2 104


well, you have to force ppl to buy L stuff somehow
either you give it SIB, what makes them useful, or you eliminate the alternatives
