Sounds like a great idea for everyone to do introductions. Please do post about yourself to introduce yourself to those in the group other than me since I already know most of you.
I think most of you know me from the posts and PMs I've done so far. Most, but not all of you that have been invited so far are folks I've worked with in some way in either a trade or some other relationship in game.
I'm in Entropia Asia Society and started out as a longblade hunter about 2 years ago. After that I went away from
EU for a long time due to the fact that a new Vu caused my old ati all in wonder 9000 pro to no longer be able to even get me past the log in screen. After that I went on to other things (back to playing Diablo II a lot) about 9 months before a hardware upgrade that let me back in. In that long time away from
EU I had time to re-think how to play and came back in mainly as a trader instead of a hunter. I do still hunt sometimes, but most of my time nowadays is spent buying as many things as I can to either sell or trade with, or going out to Neas sweating. I did do some Eomon hunts with my soc. a few days back, but that sort of thing something rare for me currently... might not be as rare now that I have a full set of gremlin+5b, but still is rare for me since most of my hunting money only comes from peds above what I have, which I have obtained via trading. About half my peds in game go to tt+0 auctions and the other half go towards buying things at tt prices off of hunters and crafters, or buying off of hunters to trade to crafters, etc. I would hunt more, but after burning through about 2k Ped in those first few months I hunted when I first started playing before my little forced time out, I got highly frustrated with losing peds all the time...
Zil is one of the two main crafters in our Society. He's the guy that was making those OA101s and OA101(L)s for you while you were supplying me with that animal oil Meculus. I have not been online at the same time as Zil the last few days, which is why the last batch of Muscle Oil is on the posting that I posted yesterday as an offer to this group. I figure someone in here probably has a need for the oil and might be willing to trade an item for it. If nobody takes me up on that offer, it'll probably go to Zil next time I see him online. He's in a different part of the world - Europe, and I'm over here in the States, so we are not online at the same time as much as I'd like to be... but I can't change that yet since I still have a 40 hour a week job that I need to go to to make real world money.
As I slowly got more and more contacts on my friend list (most of you guys) I was finding myself buying more and more things that I didn't necessarily have buyers for or a market for, so I started this group to get more people in to doing what I saw myself doing, which was trading to others at tt prices to help all involved, or to set up consignment sort of deals.
Nihilist, you have sort of been like a shop owner mentor for me and got me started in thinking about setting up social groups with your efd fund. Meculus (Blastoise), you got me thinking about focusing on one area of trading.
Witchblade0815, Sarubaboon, and Sitram, you, along with Nihilist have been giving me little hints, here and there, whether you realize it or not, about how the market is going, how running shops work, etc. Thank you all for your little bits of information. That is something else this group can be useful for, which is even more important than trading. We can exchange knowledge about how things work, what works best, what we theorize the market is doing and why... Knowledge is power.
I guess that I was a little hesitant about starting the group but after seeing some threads and discussions with some of you, it sounded like a good idea.
Just like me, Scagweed seems to have some money he wants to make in to safe investment in game.

His call for help got me thinking about my own needs and place in
EU society, and so the group came in to being. I really was contemplating joining EIF for a looong time, but just thought and thought and it became apparent after balancing pros and cons that it seems too risky of an investment for folks like me and Scagweed. I figure this group could be similar to them in their original trading idea, which was buy stuff at tt prices and profit on them, but should be different since we don't need one guy holding all the peds. Yes, EIF is a voting sort of thing on their own website, but ultimately, anything that the Fond Manager choses to do with the money he's holding on to is a choice he made that affects the entire EIF. That's far too risky after I read about things like R&R fund.

I liked the that EIF and RR fund had of making money via trading, but thought the idea of everyone in some group handing all their peds over to someone else to make investments for them sounded foolish and dangerous since the manager of the funds like EIF could end up scammers, which is what it sounds like the R&R guy sort of was. Even though MMABigshow isn't an U.B.E.R. yet, he was invited in too - hopefully there won't be a lot of flack over that if he joins as there has been with him in the past with some stuff he got involved in. I think he originally had some good ideas, but came in a little bit too self inflated and trying to hit things running at starting out way too fast, and got burned due to that.. but the guy's got money in game too and originally was looking for good, safe, non-EIF investments like Scagweed was... something like this group could help folks like him, you, and I. I kind of wish I had started something like this before his flareups to guide him better, and feel sort of guilty over all the problems he's had since I think it was an email from me that got him looking in to the entropiaforum.com about a week or so before he first started posting a lot here. I was looking in to his Entropia Holding's site and idea as something outside of EIF to invest in that might be safer..

I'm glad I didn't invest in that, but think I probably should have told him to slow it down once I saw him going overboard a little..
There is a group called DWIF that is suppossed to be starting eventually, but it's not central to just
EU. Also, it sounds a little like EIF, so may be another risky business type of thing.

I did also invite at least one guy involved in the society that is involved in that, mainly because I see all these funds as something that people want to get in to, but they are usually just too risky. The point of this group is to get those involved in this group in to some relationships like those funds promise but never work out to actually be... while keeping peds from all going to one person.
Where we go from here is what still remains uncertain. I mainly wanted the group to start up as a consignment and tt trading group, where we trade to one another at tt prices like you were doing with me and the animal oils in exchange for the OAs, and starting up relationships like that, but if you guys come up with better ideas and plans, I've got all ears open.
P.S. sorry about all these long posts. I tend to ramble sometimes when I go to type in replys. I get lots of ideas rolling around in my head and just try to get them all down. Sometimes I forget to cut it down to make it actually as readable as it should be. Guess it's my artsy side coming out. LOL.
P.P.S. Sorry if I offended you by offering the oil here. That's not my purpose. It was just an example offer to show the sort of trades I'm hoping others will get in to in here. Zil usually has been letting me pay in peds lately. It's mainly Vortexy (the other crafter in our soc.) that wants oils. I do pay Zil in Oils when I get a chance, but figure since I haven't seen him several days, and he's offline for a while due to some real world issues, I'd make the offer go to anyone in here. Also, I think if you do still collect the oils, here might be able to get you more of the stuff you are looking for than the trading only with me since I'm not always online at the same time as Zil or Vort.
