Autoscreen Software

I've been using AutoScreen for about a week now and its a great piece of software, but I can't seem to get the timing correct. Can some people share what delays they have set in order to actually get the swirlies in the screenie?

Also, and I imagine its unavoidable and I think its been brought up before, but I was in a SC at the auction last night and a crafter was lighting up the HOF board. The first one caused a CP, then a screenie. Second one didn't do anything at all as far as I could see.

I know others globalling in the area can't be helped, but shouldn't it be grabbing a screenie each time? Is there something set to wait a certain amount of time before going again? I did then go out on a hunt, came back afterwards and it then took another screenie of the resident crafter.

I have AutoScreen take shots at 100 ms, makes it so you can barely see the mob's model as it's dissapearing and it catches the swirlies

I've also noticed it doesn't catch multiple globals/HoFs in succession.

Sounds like a low spec computer problem, but if you have LeeLoo something in the watermark text, I will check the error logs.

Yep Autoscreen event 1 - LeeLoo LeeLoo Faith is my watermark text.
Sometimes it works fine, sometimes it freaks out.

Most times there is no picture taken at all then, or in rare cases if lucky a picture is taken when the interesting part is long disappeared from my screen.


Is it possible to avoid that repeated sending of the CP Keypress? If it does not works first time then just let it be?

U is the default key for date/time.

Anyone can easily change it from U to C, but the program would be more compatible with a majority of the EU users if it was U & P.

Also, as an alternative, if there was an option to set your own keyboard preferences for the AutoScreen program instead. Maybe in a future update, perhaps?

Still, it's a very handy and excellent program, and this is just a minor issue, but I thought I'd just throw that out there. Thanks.

i have the same prob as Leeloo except sometimes when i do it it decides to take 50+ screenshots and totally freezes me out, it has nothing to do with low spec PC its to do with the clipboard, i can run crysis on max np so i know its not the pc.

also i have mentioned before what Stargazer has said as U+P is the default keys now.

I've stopped using Autoscreen for now until the clipboard thing is fixed, not saying autoscreen is a bad program far from it i loved it but the clipboard problem is a killer for me atm, but as soon as thats fixed i'll be using it again ^^

This may have already been answered, but just in case. I use vista 64 and was having problem with autoscreen working and saw that someone else (Pip?) was also. I got it working today by running the setup in xp sp2 compatibility mode. Just find the setup.exe file in explorer, right click it and go to the compatibility tab and change to xp sp2. Save and then run the setup again.

the problem that I was having trying under vista 64 was when trying to enter the save folder, it always bombed on that. Now i was able to put a save folder.

I had to do compatibility mode for eu also. vista 64 sucks because of this and it's gonna take a few years before everything is v64 compatibable out of the box....

Well the problem is that for the longest time, it was C for date/time. Not sure when this changed, but it must've been one of the more recent VUs....wish they'd stop changing fundamental stuff like this....

As others have already said, it used to be that C was the default key for displaying the time. The defaults were all changed at some time point last year. It was when they introduced keys for rotating your avatar - one of which is C, I think, so they had to change the time key to something else. If I remember correctly this was introduced at the same time as PVP4, so what's that, something like April 2007? Those of us who started playing before that have a different key setup, unless they edited the defaults.

"C&P" seems to have become a common EU phrase too - if I'm talking about a globals screenshot event on EF, for example, I might say to someone "remember to C&P it", meaning that you have to have a timestamp and position in your screenshot for it to be valid.
